Ok Ive got some McCoy stage 3 heads comming and I decided to do the cam also. I havent installed a cam with the motor still in. How hard is it what steps do you have to take? I assume the radiator and front clip come out?

I personally would pull the motor and check everything else while you have it out, i can pull the motor in my sy in about hour 1.5 hrs these days.

I installed the 09-422 alone. You have to remoove the radiator and also pull a little high the air condition radiator to have enough space for remooving /installing he cam. Also upper and lower intakes
Good luck
FLSY2730 how come you need only 1,5 hour ? I need 2 hours for the tranny bolt on the drivers side

Yeah a write-up on a 1.5 hour motor pull would be cool. How about a competition at the Nats?

I also agree just pull the engine. You can then clean everything up and change the motor mounts to Jeff Scott's. Much easier now than later.

well, with no ac i can do 3 of the tranny bolts in about 4 minutes and the drivers side is easy with a nice snap on rachet wrench.

Well in that case if I decide to put one in I'll make sure to take some pics and do a write up on it.

Im going to be putting on some new stage 3 heads from McCoy and think that I should do the cam. Im also wondering if the extra horsepower is enough to justify doing it.

in my opinion it is worth it. the popular cams that we use not only give more power, they raise the rpm redline, make room for more top end....which we need, and compliment the use of the bigger heads. cam=control of valves. stock cam is a broom stick.lol
