Can I drive your truck?

Hi Guys,

I am new to the forum and I was hoping to find a local TY owner in the Greensboro NC area. I have an interesting proposal. I have never driven a Typhoon, but I am thinking about buying one but before I do I would like to get to know more about owning one and give a truck a drive around the block.

Now here is where I can make it interesting =-) I wouldn't ask to check out a persons truck without giving them something in return, so I am offering up a test drive in a Ferrari, or any other car I might have hanging around;-) Please let me know if this sounds interesting to anyone as I would love to get a chance to talk to an owner and check out their truck.

I would use this truck as a nice day daily driver only. The reason I want to check out a truck that isn't for sale is so I can get a straight story and not be caught up in a sales pitch ;-) I have been in love with these trucks forever but I haven't thought about really buying one till of late

Thanks for your time and if this is on interest or out of line for the forum I do apologize.

Best Regards,

Steve Jones

With all due respect, given your website, why would you want to have a Typhoon? I mean having cars like that around would be insane :D

Well....the fact is that at the end of the day I have a love for certain cars that are "off the beaten path' and the Sy-Ty is just that. Driving a Lamborghini or Ferrari around is a fun thing and I love my Ferrari but there is something about a Sy-Ty that gets me going. I have loved the trucks since they came out. I bought an 88 S10 in 91 when I was sixteen when the syclone came out I went to the dealer and drooled over them for days as one would come into the showroom and leave a few days later. I guess it's because it was my dream truck when I was sixteen and still is today. I have driven a lot of cool cars and owned a few as well but something keeps calling me back to these trucks.

I still drive my S10 as a daily driver...it has 184k on it now and keeps on ticking...here is a pic of it from a few years ago...
Cheers

Steve

Man if I even saw more then 2 Lamborghini's in a day, I think I'd pass out, let alone walk into a dealer and them let me drive a brand new one..

One day I shall have money, yes one day... (probably when I die, and my family gets life insruance..)

If you ever in the Chicago Area you are more then welcome to drive the my Marlboro Syclone. Something about a truck with a removable roof is really cool.

You can even buy the truck if you like as i am planning on selling it. Need to make room for some new toys.

Hey.....thanks for the reply...if you ever need any help with the truck I have more tools than I can shake a stick at. When you get that propshaft back in drop by the store sometime!

So you wanna drive a sy..... Hmmmm, what psi of boost? I can bring it down sometime and you can have it anywhere from 17psi (93octane) to 23psi (110octane). I would hope you'd wanna do more than take it around the block though. Whats the fun in that? Ya gotta catch a light and launch it at ~12psi before the fun even starts.

Will a 6'3"/275lb guy even fit in one of the Itallian wonder cars? If I wouldnt fit then maybe a drag race is in order for bragging rights  .

HAHA!!

You guys are cracking me up! I am a 6' 250lb guy and I fit...snug but I fit. As sad as it is to say I wouldn't feel comfortable doing anything other than a drive around the block....one thing I have learned is that unless it's yours...don't drive it like it is =-)

A drag race wouldn't be fair to my car...a few laps areound VIR ( is a differnt story though www.virclub.com

Im not too far from VIR and might entertain the thought of swapping shocks/tires on the truck and make things jest a wee bit more even between the hay hauler and the exotics   .
