#0175 huh. Its not listed on Sportmachines

If your looking for a daily driver. Unless this truck is moved from that spot at least once or twice a month, I wouldnt consider it. I'd be willing to bet it hasnt moved in a while if its in a collection like this that is indoors and such. That being said, it will probably cause you some problems as a DD'er. But you never know.

Price isnt all that bad. I'd bring it down to about $14,500 or so. :D

I'm curious as to why you want to sale your GTO? If it was me. I'd hold onto the GTO. Because after all it has a warranty, and that can come in mighty handy. :dunno:

I had a Syclone. I miss mine. I have several other cars that I'm gonna keep. So the GTO is one I don't want if I can get a "nice" Syclone.
I actually want Marty's MARLBORO, but too much $$$$ for me now. We are also in the middle of building a house, so that is 1st.

I'm not worried about the warranty as we own a mechanic's shop and Hahn Racecraft(I think that is what they are called. They are HUGE in the turbo and well known), is down the street from me.

I think this is a clean truck for the $$$ and the miles.

I just wanna get some "inside" on this one.

I can go look at it if you like. It's about 30 miles away. I'm not a huge fan of this dealer, as they've had some misleading advertising on the net about some of their cars, but that's not necessarily a reflection of the condition of this truck.

Are all the Marlboro owners here on this site? Are they found or all still missing except Marty's?

I bought the truck 3 days before I saw this thread. Will let you guys know how it turned out. I am sorry Draganhawk, I also got beat to my first pick before this one. On the bright side, you can buy my 13 sec automatic '93 RX7. It's for sale!

On another note, although it is a bit late, I'd like to know what you meant about it "not being registered in sportsmachines", and drivability problems due to sitting still for long. If I do an extenstive tune up, then beat the crap out of it will it drive better? Just kidding... :)All I know that a 55-year old collector had it and it is supposedly in good condition. I paid $15 even for it. I hope I made a good purchase, the guy I dealt with was very professional.
VIN : 1gdcthz4m8800175, maybe someone can run a check for me. I really appreciate it.

1. http://www.sportmachines.com/members/truck.php

2. Vehicles are designed with use in mind. When they sit for a long time, you don't have fluids circulating and stuff. Seals and similar parts can wear out faster by sitting there unused, than if they had been used (exposed to normal operating conditions) more often. You might find that as soon as you start driving this on a regular basis, all sorts of things suddenly break. The parts have very little use on them, but being parked for a very long time puts those parts in conditions they weren't meant for.

My Marlboro was originally from Wyoming chargerman. Did you ever get to check it out? I have never seen Marty's rig in person but know it is pretty amazing!!!

Nice looking truck . It looks like one of the lines to the heater core isn't connected in one of the engine pics???

How true this is! I experienced am still experiencing many of the unwanted side effects of using my Ty as a brief daily driver after it sat in some else's garage for a few years with MINIMAL use. Glad I picked up a DD shortly after everything went to hell. I'm over it now though

How did you like that turboed NSX? I imagine it was quite fast. Why'd you sell it? By the way I am not a big fan of Honda/Acura but I give rescpect where it's due. (for example turboed NSX, or stock Syclone or RX7)

It was a timebomb, to be honest. I bought the car with it on and the turbo setup was a prototype for a kit that was later sold. Consequently, that same kit ended up blowing about 6 different motors that it was put on. Because of the poor quality of the build plus the risk factor and that fact it was basically un-tunable, I took the entire kit off and put it back to stock. Believe it or not, the car ran a hellova lot stronger. Other than that, it's definitly the only sports car I'd own again. I can't wait to see what the next generation is going to look like, I'm sure they'll overpriced and underpowered as usual!

I ended up selling it to buy a house and actually have a garage to keep toys like that safely in. I was 23 when I owned the NSX and was living in a tempe with no garage for it, not a good combination of factors when it comes to keeping the car safe.

Agreed. I was without a car for a while when I bought my house and then my wife and I moved to a house with a 2 car garage. A house without a garage is not a house and some cars just have to be kept well. On the other hand when my cars are outside I keep them covered with damp rid inside, parked under my window with club, alarm, fuel and fuses/relays removed, hehe..
