Has anyone considered just trying to use a second gen blazer frame? I have always wondered if it would almost bolt up to the body of the first gen S-series. I used to have a 4 door from both gens and the newer frame was almost completely boxed from the factory.

Yep. I've given it a lot of consideration.. I also like that the gas tank is on the drivers side and the spare tire mounts up under where our tank is. This is only the case on the 4 door version though.

You are correct about the 2nd gens being almost fully boxed. The only difference that I have ever noticed is the front bumper mounts. They could be easily fixed though..

It was a Chassis Engineering kit that was custom installed.
