hmm... i could possibly put together something. wouldnt be an overnight thing... might take a year or three to compile everything from all the resources (marty, merk, leach) put it in order, categorize and make everything correct and flow..... there is alot... i mean alot that isnt published or widely known. Marty has told me he doenst even know what he has since there is so much...

i can easily design it and have it press ready for print production.... i dont know anything about getting a publisher though or costs.

funding would be the major kink.... printing alone would cost in the thousands if not more depending on the size run, paper stock, etc.....

If you need any help with design, whatever, I'm more than willing. As for publishing, if you want to do a limited run to get started, there's a website much like Cafepress but for books. You uploade everything and they print it on a per copy basis. It's not a top notch quality book, but it would be a great start to get a better publishing deal. I need to do some digging for the actual site, a co-worker told me about it. I think this project is bigger than one person. And we're all willing to lend a hand.

Cool, thanks T Jay..

Im a Prepress Technician and work in printing, however my printshop is private shop (Publix SuperMarkets, big chain in the southeast) so we dont do outsource work.

Id much rather see it goto a real offset printer and get color proofs to check out rather than some online store like cafepress. I know Jas Granger is a pressman and his shop does outsource work. If this goes forward and there is enough interest, we may be able to ask Jas to see what kind of rate we could get on a limited number of books and what kind of paper stock would be available for us to use if we ask nice

Definately not a one person job... this would be a huge project.

I suck at writing, so I can't volunteer any of my services, but if someone writes a book my wife does professional copy editing.

I've been working on a book in my spare time for over 2 years now. Marty's been busy, so he hasn't been able to get me info on some specific trucks, but I'm sure I'll eventually finish.

hey guys, I am in the Printing Industry. I have a few avenues that I can try if you can get a finished product. I know I can call in a favor or two when the time comes.

I will pack up some stuff and send it to you.

The problem with sending you the big stuff is cost and fear of it being lost.

I'll have to dig them up... but I like the pics of the proto syclone that was red/red on one side and red/silver on the other side. When I spoke with Kim Neilsen awhile back, I made mention of it and from what he said, it was probably crushed.

Also like the pics with Kim Neilsen standing next to the proto as well.

That would be awesome. I'll gladly pay to ship some of that stuff insured if it won't cost too much.

I recently got my hands on and got copies of ORIGINAL documents from ASC on the building of all 10 Marlboros. Hand written documents of the build, price breakdowns of EACH truck, all the flaws that had to be fixed before the Sy became "Marlborized". Pictures of the completed trucks all shown together.... CONCEPT sketches of how the truck was going to look. Talk about history.

Thankfully, they are in good hands and being well taken care of.

I have the original versions of these I sent those copies to marty:tup:
