I am having troble getting my setup to work together. I installed a RPM stage 1 a few monts ago along with a few other mods listed in my signature. Im using the ultimate chip for stock injectors with the FP set to 50 and im still getting a constant knock. This issue was discssed here- http://www.syty.net/forums/showthread.php?t=55592 . I am looking for someone to burn me a custom chip to get my setup to work together. If anyone could, please PM me on the price and what you need from me in order to do so,

Have you ruled out the hardware problems discussed in the other thread? If you're looking to tune via remote (have someone keep reviewing and resending you revisions), do it all the way, meaning keep going until you (and the tuner) are satisfied. Best scenario would be to get someone in the pass. seat and do some live tuning, but schedules/$$ could be an issue.

As mentioned, turbodig is definately on what most consider THE short list of tuning gods, along with several others (who are naturally busy, be patient). Even if you have someone else set you up (at least the first time), consider getting set up to tune yourself, after all, you do have 2 trucks.

There's a lot of info on here (read JS Manufacturing's stickies) and on the code 59 site, the more you read, the less daunting the task of doing it yourself will seem. You'll have all the support you need. Sorry for the book, I'm trying to avoid starting work, good luck!

Re: Chip burning

I think im going to attempt to use code 59. I'll read up on everything and try and use a bin that someone made already. Is there anyone in or close to central jersey that is using code 59?

Re: Chip burning

Hey Mike,I'm in south Jersey and was in a similar position with an ultimate 50lb. set up(not a daily driver). After many, many hours of failing to stop knock I tried contacting people to burn a new chip.Dig suggested I go $59 and sent me base 50lb.bin.I searched and read for weeks with most of the info going right over my head.I got my stuff from Scott@Detroit Turbo, downloaded Tuner Pro RT,and managed to get everything hooked up and working.I must confess that I was and still am a computer moron. What I was able to do was follow the guidelines from vendors,SYTY people, and especially the $59 group to get a good running truck( well good in my eyes) with no knock and a clean garage floor at the tailpipe.I hope my experience pushes you and others in the right direction.PM me if I can help.

Re: Chip burning

Thanks for your help. I have been reading threads on here and code59.org for the past 2 days and i think im going to give it a shot. I think i have a pretty good idea on how to get myself started and run the program. I know there is a ton of information on here and a bunch of people that will help if i run into problems. I uninstalled my ultimate chip today and took a DM run with the stock chip in there. The base FP is still set to 50. Here is the link if someone would like to take a look at it in comparison to the run wit the ultimate in there (in the first post). http://www.mediafire.com/?9elld916cdb

I didn't do a boost launch in this run because i only had a 1/4 tank of gas and didn't know how the truck would react with the FP so high.

You do need a wideband, and Tunerpro (the other program) to modify your bin (tune). Datamaster is optional as a datalogger (Tunerpro does everything you need, but some prefer the layout/interface of DM).

Re: Chip burning

The tuning aspect is the same, code 59 or not. Rear over the two tuning "stickies" at the top of this area. The principles are the same, code 59 just makes things a lot easier. It will be so much easier to understand once you at least get your laptop connected to your truck (good first step). Log some runs (via Tunerpro or Datamaster), and post them up, plenty of folks around here will take a look/make suggestions on where you need to start.

I'm trying to work on a "How to tune with Code59" document that we can use to get more people exposed to/involved with Code59, using what I've learned on my journey so far. I started off from scratch with no knowledge and now have a good basic understanding... I really feel your guys' pain in trying to get a handle on what is involved in tuning.... I'll put some effort into it, run it past Dig, Paul, and Jeff and see if we can get it out and available.
