Coil over and Sway bars

Hi guys, just bought front and rear sway bars (Belltech) and I'm planning to buy the RPM coil overs. Does somebody have this set up in your truck? If so, how does it work?
Thanks,
Pedro

Greeting from completely opposit side of the globe!
In my case, it worked fine especially lane changes in High speed, however needed to re-tap the screw holes for the swaybar-end-link when mine's installed.

Thanks Hideaki!
I live in Miami, the truck is in BZ. It's easy to get parts, the problem is to have them shipped to BZ. I'm flying next thursday and I have a transfer case, my sway bars and a pair of sway bars for a Scooby to bring with me. It's almost 100lb
Hopefully I go every 2 or 3 months. The next trip I'll bring the coil overs.

I really like the height your Ty sits:tup: .

Thanks again.
Pedro

Hey Pedro... looks like you got busy buying parts real quick...

I have JSM's arms and no rear sway bar. The fronts alone made a large difference. The truck stays flatter through corners... It almost feels like I added a sway bar already. I cant wait to add a rear bar...

Hi Ian! I bough the sway bars from RPM and...man...these things are heavy!! I saw in previous posts that some people say the front sway bar is a waste of money, which I do not agree. If you push you're truck to the limit, I'm sure you'll notice the improvement. All of my friends drive nicer cars such as WRX's, M3 and Evo's, so I just want to go race with them sometimes.
The rear bar you'll notice from the start, you should get one for sure.

Thanks:tup:

Yes, the fg leafs are in my mind too. I just don't know how long they last. I did some research and I think somebody said that in 2 or 3 years they are not so efective anymore. I can be wrong. How long do you have yours?? And how stiff is your truck compared with an original??
Many thanks.

Thanks Quick Storm! The sway bar weights a good 10-12 pounds so if I install the coil over, I can remove a lot of weight from the front of the truck. I heard only good things about the coil over from RPM and that's one of reasons I'm buying from them.
Thanks again,
Pedro

your welcome, the maintenance looks easy on the coilovers, ball joints are a snap, you probably want to get the whole setup w/ coil overs as the clearances are tight and the found the correct spring for our application, it is really tight but they are awesome. you also probably will want a sledge hammer and a cutting wheel for the install

fyi, the sway bars should bolt up just like the factory arms with the same hardware.. it's possible the powdercoating gummed up the threads a bit, and needed a thread chasing. The front sway bar can be a PITA to line up correctly, just like it is with the stock arms.. The front bar also weighs closer to 25lbs according to the shipping weight.

Thanks Mike! I'm flying tomorrow morning. Saturday morning I'll be changing the transfer case (thanks to BBW808 -Tom). Next week the truck goes to my suspension and brakes guy. I think it will be fine.
Mike, could you tell me how stiff will be the truck after I install the coil over?? The streets in BZ are as bad as they can be.
Thanks,
Pedro

Re: Coil over and Sway bars

Just installed the rear sway bar and it is a huge difference!!!!!!! The new transfer case is on place too and working great!

I don´t think I´ll buy the coil over. The streets here are too bad and they can bend very easily.
I´ll have fresh pics tomorrow if someone can host them for me.

fyi on the sway bars you may want to call ahead instead of ordering by website. The sway bars especially the typhoon front/rear are not commonly stocked items (with any wholesale/retail distributor) and it seems everytime we need to order them it takes several weeks.

I think i have both in stock at this time though. 1 of each.
