Coil question please answer quickly if possobile

Do i need to remove the coil from the truck to test another coil on it what i mean do i have to unmount it and remount the new one or can i just unplug plugs and try it and see if it works then mount? Please advise.

I don't see why you can't just unplug the old and plug in the new. Especially if its just temp and for testing.

You should be able just to wire the new one and try it.
If you are going to test drive it I would secure it somehow.

You can just plug it in and try it. I've done it many times while troubleshooting. It does not have to be bolted In place to function.

yah no good damn it i think the damn coil iunder the distributor went bad again.. It intermitently will start and run for a while then when i turn off it wont start again. i had this problem before and i replaced thee whole distributor so im thinking either the module on distributor or that coil under it because the whole setup is like 3 months old.. Truck was fine i went on vacation came home after 2 weeks of no starting it being on vacation and nothing theni let it sit charged battery up and finally it cranked over and rann fine for a few hours then next morning no start again so im going to just replace the whole damn distributor again as it came with everything module coil distributro cap and rotoer and is under warranty...
