Cold air intake

Re: Cold air intake

NELLO, where did you get that fitting for the trans cooler lines? The 90*? FWIW, I don't think I lose anything with my CAI. Mine goes in to the rectangular K&N in the stock air box except I have modified the stock box for this to pull air from the T/A fender scoop. I actually noticed a difference in ditching the cone filter. Sound, feel and everything, I was surprised.

Tranny lines are from mike lee...he sells a nice kit all measured out for easy install.

I used to have my setup like mike cambell's truck but after relocating the battery the jumper terminals were in my way. I also found my blitz boost solonoid responded slightly better closer to the turbo.

Just a big thanks for all the notes and pics. I've now got plenty to work with. Appreciate it.

Dug up an old pic of my stock turbo setup:

I used a scrap piece of 3" 304 stainless steel that I had left over when I deleted my muffler to join the K&N (8" cone part number RE-0910) to the orange elbow. Got a bung TIG welded on of the PCV. Expanded the end that went into the orange elbow so that it would have a tighter fit. As a result, I couldn't use it on my new turbo.

My new adapter tube is an aluminum piece that made myself:

Re: Cold air intake

here's mine.. it's not the best angle but it works great.. I don't run the truck in bad weather and isn't daily driven anymore so no problems here

No way that is 1/2" NPT. We are talking about the adapter you have on the trans cooler from the radiator? The 90* fitting on there? That is what I was looking at.

Ok, took second look. I don't get how the 1/2" fitting comes in to play. What is it screwed on to or in to?

It's actually two pieces. http://www.anplumbing.com/shop/index.php?shop=&dept=Aluminum

The elbow connects to an adapter, (see pic marked 22/9892 or 33/9221) which goes into the radiator...which I believe is 1/2 aka -8..my radiator is from RPM. For sure on the b&m cooler is 1/2. However, I'm basing this on memory from over a year ago. I'll pop the hood and measure it out for you if you need.
