Re: Collector Insurance for SyTy's? Who to go with?
Old post but I will add to it.I have my 85 El Camino show car insured with Grundy Worldwide and registered as a collector. I did not need an appraisal, I just sent pictures and told them what I wanted to cover it for and they judge by pictures and you come to an "agreed value." Mine is covered for $35k and my only mileage limitation is determined by state rules (3500 a year). The only thing they care about is that it's stored in a garage, you have a primary vehicle with insurance in your name, clean driving record, and must be at least 25.
The downfall, is if you're driving it you better have a good reason. Say you decide to just drive it to work on a nice tuesday and you total it. They want to know why you were using it for work etc. They don't limit miles but they only really want you using it for car show/meet purposes.
$35k value, 490 a year.
