I use to get pulled over every month or so.. heck last spring I got pulled over 10 minutes into having my Typhoon out for the 1st time due to the dark tint on the back window (had paper plate the cop couldn't see..)

Now that I work at the local PD and most cops know me I haven't been pulled over in nearly a year

Yeah, I used to have window tint on my 2001 Xtreme. I got pulled over for speeding, and he wrote me up for everything (unsigned registration, window tint, and speeding). I thought about getting it on my Mustang, but the last thing I want is to get pulled over for having tint on the front window after having a drink or two.

In Michigan you need a prescription to have the front windows tinted, or the windshield. It sucks!

This is the second time I have been pulled over in about six months. This truck seems to draw cops attention unfortunately. They keep stopping me for to dark of window tint.I only drive my Ty a little bit on the weekends. I quess that I will have to get some lighter tint installed. I have been lucky so far and have only been given warnings be the police.

Where did it happen? In H'vagas?

Thats exactly what happened. I saw him coming form about 1/2 mile away and I shut it iimmediately. He said he was not confused at all. The other cop that pulled up to "assist", told me to fire it up and he thought it was VERY loud, dump was closed. I was like, ok, Im not going to argue. If you argue with a cop, atleast around here, youre a moron, because you wont win. When you go to court, there is nothing you can say or do. Its what it is here. I have a stock t6ype mufffler with a flange I am going to bolt up on court day and see if the judge will have someone come listen so I can try and press hte "it wasnt me story" but I doubt it will work. Last March I had my truck impounded for this and the judge gave me a $500 fine, or was it 4? and suspended $400 if I dont get another one within a year. I screwed that up. So I am going to drag it out as long as I can to try and surpass hte date he gavce me that fine in hopes that I wont have to pay the other 3/400 dollars.

What you need is a noise meter and check your decimal levels. Check the local and just go to court with your decimal meter and tell the judge my truck is within the decimal requirement of the law. I have my meter here if you want to check it for yourself.

Just remember you have no Cat either which if they dig deep could get you on that.

in CA they allow you to have up to 70% of light in the front windows, so i got limo tint on the back with light in the front, its make its all good.

Im in MI too. I mounted my paper plate in a zip lock bag where the real plate sits because my back windows are real dark. Royal Oak and Southfield cops know me and my truck by now. Lots of vintage muscle in the area loud exhausts, tints, no hoods, and chirping tires. Not much of a hassle were I live. Can't wait for spring.

Had a Huntington Woods Cop chase me down one night. I was driving the posted limit when he stopped me. He said damn that thing is fast I've been chasing you about 2 to 3 miles when you crossed the rail road tracks. He said I had changed lanes real quick. I told him I was trying to avoid an accident. He asked what size engine I had and said he never heard of typhoon or seen one. He was cool didn't give me a ticket. I think he was out of his jurisdiction any way. lol after I recalled looking at his face as he walked around my ty. He looked puzzled and said just a six.

Doesnt work that way here anymore. It did back in hte 90's when everyone was gangsta with the stereos but since the street racing scene hit hard, its anything not factory on your vehicle is illegal, so it doesnt really matter either way.

Ya Joe it was the hendersonville cops. I don't know why they keep stopping me. I quess they don't like black trucks. I am going to replace the tint on the door glass and the back glass. Maybe they will leave me alone then.

Welcome to Hendersonville.:roll::lol: I bet Ive been pulled over by them in the Sy 100 times for stupid B.S. including window tint. It happened alot when I was younger but not as much now days. I guess the bald head makes me look like a old man.:lol:

If HPD has soooo much free time maybe they could come sit over by my house and ticket those crazy people that like to drive 50 in a 30 down my street.

Get the tint fixed, problem solved. When I first got my z28 I got pulled over 3 times in 6 months. Finally got a tint ticket ( 5% tint ) .... swapped it ... and havent been pulled over in 2 years.

Tint is a cops excuse to run your license/plates ---

I know where I am at, if you have dark tinted windows and have your windows down part way, the police will generally leave you alone since they can see you.............. :lol:
