Cured Was A Very Dirty Air Filter

The ultimate recommendation for 50 lbs is at idle w/line off of the FPR and your thumb over the line. Vac should be 0.

If you are getting 62 at WOT I hope you are only boosting 12 lbs. 50+ 12 = 62...If you are running more boost, your base FP isn't set high enough.

Check your ignition.

What does diacom say?

If you are tuning, always start rich and go leaner.

HTH!

so i should try cranking up the base fuel pressure?? do not have a scanner, changed all the wires, plugs, fuel filter, checked timing 0, changed plugs & wires one at a time still does it, what is weird it will run great sometimes, can tell when it is going to start breaking up by the way it idles, rough, it will start to stumble when i accerate when it starts out with the rough idle, next couples miles it runs smooth,??? could it be a bad coil or ignition module?? checked all vacucm lines no leaks, injection cleaner used, now using octane boost still does it!! help

14 then it started to stumble. but today i just cleaned the K&N air filter [was really dirty] & left the lid off the top of the cold air intake it has not stumbled yet!! hope this is what the problem was!?

Ideally, you should see a fuel pressure of 64psi at 14psi of boost and base FP set at 50. But there is often some variation and error in pressure gages

if i set the ultimate for t1 18 what does the fuel pressure go up automatically or do i need to increase base fuel pressure? what would i do to get the fuel pressure higher with more boost? thanks

The fuel pressure regulator has a vaccum line going to it from the manifold. This vaccum line tells the regulator what the manifold absolute pressure is (vaccum -boost). Its the regulator's job to maintain a ideally linear relationship between that prssure and the fuel pressure, so that when boost increases, fuel press increases. You set the base fuel pressure with the vaccum line disconnected from the regulator. Once the line is reconnected, the regulator maintains the dynamic pressure relationship with respect to that base fuel pressure.
