hey guys - need adive (once more *gg*) ,

im thinking of deleting the puck on the stock-WG ...
... what will happen after that, leaving it open - not re-run it into a new-flanged DP ???

will this harm the exhaust-stream ???
... or only release the gas in the engine-bay ( which is no prob IMO ) ???

TIA,
pat.

btw.: are there only the 3 spot welds, or is there anything more to do to get this lil thingy out

Right, Im thinking you really dont want 1000+ degree exhaust shooting out the service port in the back of your turbo. Your more likely to melt everything on that side of the engine and start a fire then you are to appreciate how great of an idea it was.

There are only 3 spot welds in it but im sure its a real bitch to get out with all the heat/corrosion. Im pretty sure they are pressed in to form a tight seal.

I think so too...

you can port your WG or you can go external if you are having boost problems.

I took mine out and it was a bitch. I ground down the welds and had to punch a hole in the metal, then heat the whole thing with a torch to release it from the housing. I also have a DP with a flange so it now dumps straight into the stream instead of the stock setup.

How is your boost control with this setup?

It sucks, but I need to have some tuning done because I think I've got some KR issues.
