Hi question here. I'm not a huge fan of how the OEM IPC looks on the SyTy's. I've seen the new glow replacements on ebay which look somewhat better.

Question is though, I have on my '94 Bravada a digital cluster. Would it be possible to use this cluser instead of the OEM one? I realize that the Digital one dosn't have a PSI guage for the turbo but a simple work around would be to add a fancy gauage on the door pilar.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Dont, know if it would work or not, but that looks way to old school to put in.

Well I know it's old, but I really don't understand why that would prohibit it from working. Obviously it would "fit" into the current cluster but getting it to work is another thing.

The connector is different. You have to hack the wiring harness. There was a thread on one of the s-series forums with details.

I've driven 150k mi with each type. Some say the digital is hard to see due to glare. I never had that problem. The digital has a much easier-to-read odometer/tripmeter. Other than that, no real functional benefit to justify the hack. Just a matter of taste, I guess.

Another thing to think about (and this may not make a difference to you), but the digital speedo can be (at times) rather sluggish to respond to acceleration. It always catches up, but it makes some large jumps in numbers from 0-60. I have one in my '90 Jimmy and even "launching" it (it's stock) will cause the speedo to jump from 5-18-31-etc.....rather erratically. A SyTy launch would prolly have it all confused. Could be annoying, but may not matter to you.

BTW, I've never had an issue with the glare. In fact, I like the way it looks when dimmed at night. The only "issue" I have (other than the prone-to-fail TDK power supply module in the cluster) is the fact that the trip meter and the speedometer don't match the vitals (oil pressure, tach, temp, etc....) in color. Of course, there are people out there (look on Ebay) who can change the color scheme of the cluster.
