Re: Do you do your own mechanic work?

I do most of my own maintenance stuff as well as fabricating.
I draw in cad and get a machine shop to do the actual machining
I have disassembled my engine several times to check internals
etc for stress and excessive wear.
Im comfy with brakes
Fabricating
welding
electrical
ecm stuff like harnesses etc
exhaust and intake plumbing
fiberglass and body work
interior and seat assembly

for really fussy welding i tack the parts together and have my welder/machine shop guy
do his thing. He builds choppers and snowmobile parts and has a full on machine shop
running

Re: Do you do your own mechanic work?

I couldnt/wouldn't even change my own oil...........until I bought a Syclone in 2001. :D

I remember back in 1999 or 2000 I saw my first SyTy (a Typhoon) and when the hood got popped I saw the upper intake manifold and thought it seemed like a strange, small looking "engine".

Thanks to this site and the internet in general, I've done most stuff short of body work and bottom end assembly. (Although I did just learn to wetsand paint chips over the past 4 weeks).

Re: Do you do your own mechanic work?

Almost all of it.,No machine shop in the basement.and no alignment machine, otherwise it would be all.Tire equipment,a/c machine, brake lathe, ease diagnostics,Paint quality shop air, Guess thats why I don't have time to scratch my ass.
