Do you guys notice that other people underestimate you in normal driving....---

This has been a BIG problem for me since I have owned my SY. When leaving a red light I like to boost about 5lbs and enjoy my truck. I say in the last 5k miles ( 2years) I have almost t-boned 10 right hand turning drivers. The problem is they think they have time to make it , and I am almost at their door when they decide to turn!!!

Or, today, I hit an ONRAMP .... got on it until the LEGAL SPEED. This suburban to my left almost sideswiped me. It made me laugh because I think the driver saw me .... then wasnt expecting me to be on its side and started to turn over in my lane ... then LUCKILY swerved back.

Its not like I am being a doufus ... I never speed .... its just these trucks accellerate A LOT faster than normal cars/s10's ... and people judge us :roll:

Let me clue you in on something.

Most ppl on the road(and in life) are either idiots or assholes.

Mostly idiots. Lots of assholes too.

You absolutely CANNOT EVER expect them to do a sane and or rational thing.

They are too busy talking or eating or doing their makeup or texting or reading a book or high snd drunk or late or pissed off or running from the police or retarded or oblivious.

So,drive defensively.

You see a turning lane,watch for the retard.

Merging? Honestly I just go faster than the other car can possibly go,then merge accordingly while slowing down to 9 mph above the speed limit.

It's crazy out there.Just be careful (especially of deer)

i had to put the Ty away for a while. In ONE day i got forced into oncomming traffic by a dumb bitch in a mini van, then i got stuck behind a women who pulls into traffic, sees traffic comming even tho at this point she is IN the intersection and cars are stopping for her, then decides to slam it into reverse and back up into the turn lane again. This women then leaves the car in reverse (which i noticed and made a good 20 feet by backing up myself) and punches it when she sees her time to turn. Jimmy is right, I personally drive as though everyone on the road has downssyndrom and have 3 40's of Ole` E high gravity in their gullets.

i'll drive 3" off your bumper if you're doin 65 in the fast lane and if you still can't get the hint then once i'm able to get around you i'll pull in front of you and go 55 just to get you to move out of the fast lane.

cut me off because you're not paying attention or talking on the phone then you're gonna get brake checked or a handful of change out the sunroof.

3 years of commuting 48 miles one way to work to LA will do this to you... although i like to think i've mellowed out a bit since i got a different job a couple years ago... but now i drive 12 miles on a city street with 19 lights on it and hit about 12 of them every morning on the way to work cause the city cant figure out how to sync up the lights. the funny thing is that i think i actually get more pissed off at hitting 9 red lights in a row than i did at the idiot drivers.

anyway back to the topic..
i concur, people definitely underestimate these old S-10's... most people must have poor depth perception or something cause i get cars pullin out in front of me all the time not realizing how fast i'm going... or like you said, they think they can sneak in that quick right turn in front of you...

just be careful with that shit... i had someone make a right turn in front of me from the left lane cause they thought they had time before i got there... one dented bumper support, one torn front bumper cover and one busted AC condenser later, i learned my lesson.

2 situations for me yesterday:

almost t-boned an explorer when the lady pretty much rolled through her red light after im already into the intersection. I stopped about 2ft off her passenger door.

later on in the day, im in a turn lane and a guy in a minivan decides he wasnt paying attention to starts to make his way over to me as cars are already stacked up and there is no place for him to get in. He litterally puts the vans side mirror inches from mine and expects me to let him in. No hand gesture, no signal, no eye contact. F that. With the already closed space I move up even closer on the bumper to the car in front of me and closed the gap entirely. The guy shook he head in disbelief that I would do that after HE is the one who put his van on top of me cause he wasnt paying attention to get into the turn lane. If it wasnt for the passenger with me and trying to set an example, im pretty sure that would have turned ugly.


I drive like I own the road and pay attention to the cars around me and their driving habits...you can almost see the next idiot move they will make and already be ready to avoid it.

I am paranoid about doing boost launches at red lights. I was alway loook both ways after it turns green. Too many idiots around here run right through red lights. I have been a few close call with my daily drivers, one time I saw someone running a redlight t-bone a cop.

People like to cut in front of people in all trucks when in traffic for the exact reason you said....they feel they can edge you out becasue its a slow, clumsy truck and they have a Honda Civic with a Maxwellhouse can for a muffler.

As most of you know I drive a truck. Been at it off and on since 1960. (Gonna retire this year). Anyway, it seems to me that there is a consistent percentage of drivers who prolly need to be somewhere else. As in not on the road. It doesn't change, they're always out there. I think over the years I've acquired something of a 6th sense about them. I swear I can pick them out. Not all of course, but I'll go out on a limb and say something more that half. The challenge is to give them their space and let 'em hit, or be hit, by someone else.

I feel your pain I drive 52 miles a day and im constanly getting cut off or people thinking they can get in front of me. One day i had a guy try to pass me on the right just after i passed a car so i sped up to keep him behind me, blocked hi behind another slow car...He finally gets past me and flips me off....And i was on, i passed the guy coming off an onramp and slowwed him and everybody else behind us to 30 in a 60 for about a mile....I spped up and pass the slow semi and he trys to pass again....I ran him to bout a buckO5 for a mile or so slowwed down gave him the finger and turned off.... I HAVE THE WORST ROAD RAGE.

I feel your pain I drive 52 miles a day and im constanly getting cut off or people thinking they can get in front of me. One day i had a guy try to pass me on the right just after i passed a car so i sped up to keep him behind me, blocked hi behind another slow car...He finally gets past me and flips me off....And i was on, i passed the guy coming off an onramp and slowwed him and everybody else behind us to 30 in a 60 for about a mile....I spped up and pass the slow semi and he trys to pass again....I ran him to bout a buckO5 for a mile or so slowwed down gave him the finger and turned off.... I HAVE THE WORST ROAD RAGE.

Gtfo the road asshole, you're the type of people i brake check. I will be an asshole back to other assholes. If someone tailgates me, I block them and go slower, because you are ****ing assholes. I normally am a quick driver (120-130 km/h about 75-80 mph) myself but I dont go as far as tailgating someone slower just because.

666 Sothis 666 I swear you and i think alike. Everything you said above is exactly how i am. I cant stand morons that don't pay any attention to whats going on around them when there driving. People on Cells drive me up a wall the most. Its like they get a call and have to slow down to talk, Then when you pass them they realize what there doing and try to speed back up on your bumper and thats when i get the breaks working. Ass holes Heres the best part theres no driving and talking on Cell Phones on Post here and they do it anyway, I tend to let them know that with a nice hand gesture but when i did it to a General i heard a hand full of comments.

Its like i need a bumper sticker to say wake the F up and pay attention to the road and surrounding cars. oh yeah get off your flipping phone.

Honestly this reminds me of a time where my friend and I went to eat, and I was driving the SY. He says "get on it" so I punched it. All of a sudden this mustang gt pulls out and burns out (on his own) .... sees that I am ON HIS BUMPER .... punches it harder and does a complete 180 trying to get away ( luckily in the OTHER lane).

These trucks launch hard , and I dont think ANYONE but a diehard fan is expecting it ---

its not tailgating just because... it's tailgating because here in the US we have a rule on the road... 'SLOWER TRAFFIC KEEP RIGHT'... unfortunately not everyone can understand this concept...

8 out of 10 times its the soccer moms in suburbans on the phone trying to organize their evening of picking johnny up from soccer practice, droping jenny off at her friends house and trying to decide what rachel ray dinner to make for the night... not realizing that while theyre writing down directions, applying their 15th coat of lipstick and digging through their purse, they've managed to drop down to 45mph and drive side by side with the geriatric in the lane next to them that thinks the speed limit is 65 km/h and is in some kind of hot pursuit drag race with the big rig next to him...

next thing you know you've got 200 cars backed up behind these idiots just waiting for one of them to get out of the way like theyre a pace car in daytona and everyone is late for work.

Like i said... you commute to work for 3 years in LA and then we'll see if you're still Mr. Johnny Nice Guy on the road.

PS how do you suppose you're gonna speed up and block me from getting around you when you have an S-10 and I have a Syclone?
