dp (?)

i want to go with a 3" dp but still have the stock 2.5" dp. also, i have the stock turbo exhaust side. i do however have 3" dp back.

would it be a waste of time to run a 3" dp because of the restriction out of the turbo?

i don't want to run full 3" exhaust just to say i have 3" exhaust, i'm hoping for a gain or at least less restrictiveness. TIA!

Re: dp (?)

Yes, a 3" dp will help quite a bit. Coupled with a 3" exhaust you can see very noticeable gains. However, with the stock wg puck you can over-boost with just a 3" exhaust and kill your motor. ask me how i know. It can be ported and you can get a Jsm style dp and be in great shape using the stock turbo.

Re: dp (?)

JSM=Jeff Scott Manufacturing. He's done a couple of group purchases for his 3" stock turbo/20g downpipe. At this point, he's not making anymore, so your best bet is to keep an eye out in case someone else wants to part with theirs, or have one made elsewhere. Here's some good info on what the exhaust housing will look like after cutting the puck out of the way. Just did this to a spare I had this weekend. Not too time consuming, and hopefully worth the effort.
