Driveline (front diff) Question

Has anyone ever had failure in their front differential that initiated the replacement of the 2 bushings?

Would there be any reason these would wear prematurly (before any other bushing on the vehicle) ?

I am attempting to track down an occasional driveline clunk, thinking bushings *may* be worn...but unsure.

Looking forward to all your insights.

1.oil leak in motor would cause the bushing to fail , (oil destroys the rubber bushings)
2, crappy factory equipment
3 abusive driver

Mine failed and caused a clunk during low-speed turns, when backing up, and pretty much whenever torque was quickly applied to the front differential. When the propshaft was out, there was no clunking. The bushing on the driver's side was so worn the case was getting gouges in it from making contact with the metal of the mount. I could recreate the clunk by prying on the diff. case with a prybar.

As far as a reason for the failure in my Ty, I'm sure it was just age and liberal use of the throttle, as I don't remember it being covered in oil or grease when I was checking or removing it.
