Blow off valves are also know as recirc valves every turbo car today has one. These are very important to a turbo engine but not a requirement of a turbo engine. A blow off valve/recirc valve is releasing the unused intake pressure so you do not get compressor surge. Compressor surge is bad for the turbo, the built up pressure unused from when the throttle body plate slams shut has to go somewhere. Without a bov or a recirc unit this build up of pressure will push back against the turbo attempting to stop it/reverse it. In simple terms a bov/recirc valve will stop this from happening. BUT this happens at a cost, when you vent into the atmospere your engine tends to run really rich 9 times out of 10 due to the air not bein delivered back to the actual intake side. This can be very harmfull to your engine for the fact that you can actually wash out your cylinders. BUT with tuning you can fix this really rich condition so that you dont wash your cyl walls. Personally i would never own a turbo car without a bov for the fact that aftermarket bov vent faster than a stock recirc would ever do. As far as you question goes ebay bov or manufacture bov. Find a bov you like, then buy the diapham an a spring from lets say hks put this in your cheap bov from china. An thats it, only thing would be that the exterior is a knock off wile whats inside is authentic. This is what i hae always done with no issues. I hope this all helps guys?
