Hi Ed

I´m a lithle quriose how things went last night..

And even more about Your "add"...serious or?

"noticed you have been buying syclones.
I own the syclone featured in nov 06 gm high tech performace magazine.
best so far is 9.13@150.xxmph on 26 inch tires.
going to track tomorrow night with rear gear change and 29 inch tall in rear.
truck should go into the 8's makeing it the worlds fastest.

Whell realy hope U dont do it, because U are the one now for Robert to challenge and compete against for the Sy´s to be even quicker.. and some friendly naggin against :D


Heard U borred the block and put in some new better pistons in, did U keep the kompression height or did U lower it now?? for more boost..?

And the bold gripp on driving the Sy with 2 different gears and a higher tire.. thats Borld and I realy ask of U, did U do your math on this??

If U use slicks in the rear and dragradial in front or a low slicks, have U consider Tiregrouth?

I have not been thinkin about this alot (I just got this from Robert ½ ´n hour ago) but I figure IF the calculations is wrong , one end of the Sy is gona work against the other..



I wish U the best in your hunt for the 8 and I know the season is comming fast to an end in US too.So I´ll give U my best of luck.. and ceep us posted about progress.





Robert is starting the season as early as possible next year, because we have "coffe brainstorm talking" alot on making the truck permanently in the 8, and some changes is on its way (not engine or so) but some extras around the whole consept and we figures a 8.8X is realy possible and at a WERRY good perfect run an 8.7x is possible

I´ve been playing with a new toy.. dragsim and dynosim program.. and wow are these programs acurat, sorry theres no AWD simulations in them YET, I hope there will bee..

Why?? well bouth Hoover´s and Robert have taken ther trucks below 1.40 in the 60´
and bouth have trer trucks running under 9.13 several times without this exotic combo..

Its a bold move though

The Hoovers IMO had a better handle there truck than
any I’ve seen. They didn’t get in the 8’s but they where
very consistent. That means a lot when your tuning one.
If your E.T. is all over the place then your shooting in the dark with your tuneup.

The smothest lounch of these 3 is the lounch Roberts Sy does. just sits dow2n and gone.

Hoovers did explode on the line..and jumped around alot in the vid´s

I have to agree with Anders about Roberts launch very straight. Matt Hoover mention many time that his ride were very much a white knuckle rides. One of his 9.0 run I remember he lifted slightly on the launch. I have read Ed's truck has been launch much straighter these day after removing the limited slip front end.

Robert has never used a limitid slipp in the front..

I know Ed was surprised over this and yes after he removed his, the sy is straigter outa the hole, but still wigeling alithle..

Funny though, Ed usually responds quick on this cin a matter but not this time??

Anny hear about his progress at Atco??

Ed Hess brings a hugely different combination to this class, an AWD Cyclone with twin turbo power which shocks many with its performance. A terrible .378 light for Hess and a .176 for opponent Rob Poochigian in the immaculate black Chevelle, both cars didn't make it into the 8's but Hess came out ahead 9.421 @148 to a losing Poochigian 9.727 @ 150

You guys amaze me.

taking all the trouble to go searching the internet to find what i may or may not be doing.

we still have 2 months left here.

i just reassembled the motor after going thru it to check how things were holding up.

so if you guys know how having ramps on in the boost controller affect performance and the 60 ft when you leave with only 4psi then some of these times might make sense to you.

as for thinking theres something in the tuneup. think again.

when its done you'll know it.

one other thing.

This was the 1st time i ever was on a protree and bringing it in on a protree is a bit different as i found out on the 1st three runs. the last run was a bit different as i brought into the lights at around 10 psi but the other guy redlighted so i just took an easy walk down the track.

only other thing i can tell you was we made it to the semifinals before the rain hit. went home with $420 extra in my pocket.

Ive learned to hate pro trees since owning a sy. Too much to do with too little time to do it :tdown: .

Amaisingly, :D Your on alot of board with your truck and info, but here on THE SyTy board where the intrest is more/totaly to Syclones like your´s, the info is, some how slow or not so informative..

Its the folks on THIS board that wants to know when a SyTy goes fast some where, and IF theres a new "record" been set, thats not strange that people is seartching the net for the things of their intrest? or?

And wellcome to the world of pro tree, thats what Robert meets every time he runs here, Looots of time to build boost eh? :D

Hm funny ad, realy hope your jokin on this one, or wait till U actually did run an 8 before posting the ad :D

And thats why the intresst on your truck is so intence now, You been claming worlds fastets and easy going 8 sec run lots of times now but not been there yet, and U have the oportunity to run 2-4 times a month and lots of runs, and still dont deliver the "promisses"

still have 2 month more on the season?

Roberts truck been away for all to long, season here is ended long time ago, we want to do the changes we recon makes Roberts a 8.8x runner.. and we have no test&tune weekend runs, and race about once a month (in season) and our "testruns are the qualifying runs. about 2-3 before the competition starts.. make progress under this circumstances is not easy. Try it..
U live in a priviliged racing spot.

yeah those turbos werent the real thing. the big ones are ready to go on.

twin 60s are off next week and twin 66's ball bearing on next week.

the 66's are good for 700hp each. (gulp)

if you think back to 2004 we did it then by slowly creeping up on it from 11.9 to 9.93 and we are doing the same thing again.

training turbos, only testing.. over before nats..

its a lithle to much of a coincistent when U go racing and dont get better times theres allways and "explanation" of some sort,

and still says things like : "wants to run with the big dogz, bring the truck to atco" or "this means the heaviest truck is gonna wup the light trucks" :

yes its humorous the first time even the second one too... but not in the long run, Do it instead..


Ok this might be taking the wrong way, You might all think I ´m out of line, being unfair to Ed.

But the fact is.. Robert came to the nats, we wanted to meet bouth Hoover and Ed and other fast trucks, share ideas,talk about solutions and do bench AND real racing, puching eatch other to FAST times and maybee 2-3 trucks down in the 8.. no one came..rest is history.

And then all this.. BS talk of running 8

U might be mad at me for this, others to, but I stand with my words.

I REALY wish U the best of luck to run an 8. I realy do..

you should know that it can take a lot of time to sort things out.

you should also know that when we get it all done,

you should look pretty foolish for trying to talk shit when you arent any good at it. If you want to learn how to talk shit you going to have to go back to all my threads in 2004 and study them real hard.


so go find something to do, to keep yourself busy and when i kick all of your collective swedish ass's you will have plenty of pain to enjoy.

Hi Ed :D I´m right on to ya, according to your answer. ;D

Yes I know tuning takes time (been around Robert sinse he run 11,10 timeslips)

I´ve also tuned my own car´s and other friends cars starting in -76-77

But I´m not claiming to have the world´s fastest syclone or saying its so easy to run 8..

And about but kicking all swed´s "hinies" we´re about 9-10 miljons so I´ll guess your knee wont mannage that task.. save it.

So stop BSíng and run thos easy 8 know.. :D

Still regards and I realy wish U manage this 8 run..
