! I have only had the cover off my truck two times this year so far... I don't blame my boss. Funny thing is I offered to give him some compensation for the machine time early on. He told me not to worry about it. However I exceeded his expectations as time went on and I was spending more and more time after work doing stuff.
I suppose my attention to detail was my own undoing. I don't care how long it takes to make something if it is done 100% accurate. Spending over an hour to engrave a diff cover for example, is unheard of. Even if you have the CAD file to cut the logo, the price to cut it would be out of this world. I know because I had some custom brass fittings turned on a lathe by a machine shop before I was a machinist. I supplied the material and the drawing to make them. I picked up my two fittings a few days later as well as a $115 bill, per piece, for them (yes, $230 for two 3/4" fittings)

. I know some of you are real perfectionists like me. It's pretty cool when you can fabricate something and others can really appreciate the time and effort that you spend trying to make something the best that you can.

Well you two might be in luck. I just remembered that I had two "scratch and dent" plates laying around that I found for this member in this
thread last year. I can clean them up if either of you are interested. Those are the very last two that I have.
