I've had the Flex-A-Lite 220 on my truck for years. Cools just fine in South GA heat. Not the cheapest (or lightest on amperage), but a good setup (seems to be replaced by PN 420).

x2 Had to run my own wiring though, The fan controller they supply with it melted in about a month.
I put this in with 1.5" X 1/8 thick strips vertical for mounting, and a variable temp controller with a 180 deg thermastat with the stock shroud. Drove it in 100 deg days with it running no more than mid scale on our not so accurate gauges. Works great & wasn't too expensive.:tup:

I used duel fan setup off and LT1 camaro 93-97 they cool Sweet and fit nice.
Did you wire your ground wire directly back to the battery? It is NEVER a good practice to ground anything that has a high draw through sheet metal... The draw needs to have as little resistance as possible getting back to the battery to prevent heat build up and risk of fire.
