electronic boost controller and gauges vs all in one

is there any advantage to going with the gauges in the pillar pod and a basic EBC over an 'all in one' unit like these?

I know these are expensive, and everyone usually goes with the pillar pod and gauges, but is that simply based on cost or do the autometer gauges function significantly better?

anyone here ever use an all in one that can offer some pros and cons?

Code what?
I would say cost, and the ability to glance at the gauge pod and knowing about where the needle on an analog gauge should be at WOT while racing. Starring at a group of digital numbers could get obstructive to keeping your eyes on the road

If the boost controller is like the AEM gauge
that fits in the pillar pod it does benefit a 2 in 1
option the cheapest route will be a manual boost
gauge and a 2 stage boost controller so you can
dail in two boost settings and flip a switch on the fly ..

yeah i thought about the AEM gauge/controller... but i figure by the time I buy the pillar pod for $70, plus the AEM gauge/controller for $315, and the auto meter fuel psi gauge for $220... i'm already $600 in... I can buy the Blitz controller for $720, have everything in one unit, a lil bling bling, and a few more bells n whistles for an extra $120... i can work with that.

I'm just asking if anyone has used one of these Blitz style controllers and if the boost/fuel psi gauges on them are as accurate as the autometer gauges... if they're not, then it doesn't really matter. Performance>bling

might have to troll some ricer forums to see if there's anyone on there with one.

The Blitz ID SBC iii i had always read the same as my autometer. I dont think it responded as fast, but its hard to tell anyway. Its like a fluke MM, the scale moves way faster than the digital read out, even though it will show the exact same reading.

I think the Blitz even have a similar scale, that responds faster than the digital.

I'd go for less clutter and functionality in the cab. It's already too tight in there.
Nice!
Check out Glow Shift for the gauge pods.
I just got that one which holds 3 gauges and can be mounted on the speaker grill screws with some tinkering. I'll have WB O2, boost, and fuel pressure in it.

this thing looks pretty tasty... http://youtu.be/wuYbBf3alO4

says it'll even control water/methanol spray... I wonder if that means i can ditch the razor alky controller and just have this? ...again that eliminating clutter thing.

Oh that looks sweet and it would be nice and clean in a pillar pod. So I have a rookie question how would this work with my ultimate chip since it has preset boost levels? Would the ultimate just control fuel and all the engine management while the EBC controls the turbo? Not trying to jack the thread just getting a better grasp.

no hijack at all, that's actually a good question...

but i don't have the answer haha... i used a manual boost controller in my syclone before so i never had a conflict. Maybe someone more astute than us can chime in? haha
