Hey Guys,

For Anyone rebuilding a motor or pulling one, if you change over to the solid mount set-up be sure to check your Energy Suspension mounts on your frame mounts.

We just had a issue where the weld was so poor on the mount that we couldn't get the mount bolt through and fought it and fought it and finally pull the motor back out to find that because of the poor weld it would of never bolted in place.

Test Fit all your mounts to make sure before going through all this trouble.

I will follow up this thread with pictures!!

I am also returning the mount to exchange for a new one.

That's some ugly stuff. From a design standpoint, it looks like that should be made from 1 piece of steel, with the ends bent upwards, as opposed to a weldment.

Regardless, that's just sloppy manufacturing.

ES told me at SEMA one year when they melt to just replace them. I laughed and stopped recomending ES mounts since.

If you went to full solid pads and mounts , problem solved . Es does suck , I wish Id kept the frame mounts stock instead of their replacements .

I had poly mounts in my truck as well that mounted. I would never go to a poly mount again.

How many put the factory heat shields back on when using ES mounts??

I believe they do interlock, but I could be wrong. The stock 4.3 mounts suck also hence our problem.

I believe if someone didn't want solids, there has got to be a good aftermarket rubber MM available, some heat shield and be good for awhile.

If I was in the motor mount business still for those that just want solid I would design just a solid piece to bolt to motor using stock frame pads.
