Engine Harness Removal?

PJs97Talon

Is in over my head......
I have a few electrical issues that I am trying to trace down. How hard it is to just remove the engine harness from the engine? I want to remove all the looming, check all the wires for damage, make any repairs needed and then reloom everything before I reinstall it. Where does it disconnect at the other end? I am positive that Joe and Christina would LOVE for me to get this out of my parking spot at their house.......

I would like to actually be able to drive it to nationals in a few months and since I think I actually live the closest to the track it would be kinda silly for me not to......lol.

Disconnects at the computer on one side and the fuse box on the other--make sure you label everthing when you disconnect them

Re: Engine Harness Removal?

The harness from the Fuse box will be the easiest, since it just "bolts" through the firewall. You'll have a couple harness sections there.

Pulling the engine computer will be a little more challenging. You'll also need to remove the passenger side inside fender to get at the bolts holding it in place.

Got a copy of the wiring harness diagram?

I've pulled the engine harness multiple times without de-pinning the ECM connectors. :dunno:

^^ Don't think I said that, regarding the un pinning. We may have been discussing something else.

Icarus has is correctly. Unbolt it from the firewall plug, disconnect the connectors at the ecm and drac, push it through the grommet and then un hook all of the sensors on the engine and the two on the trans and transfercase. Labeling them will help reassembly. Most will fall close to their repsective places. Taking out the pass inner fender will make it much easier. HTH

Shit... Sorry about that. Must have been on extra Benedryl that day.

I'll edit that bit out.
