Engine swap in 48 hrs, 5,000 miles?

Because I like punishment and abuse and I am crazy at times I am flying out July 4th to my dad's house in Seattle to do a motor swap on a members typhoon here.

I will have basically 2 days (friday and saturday) to go from a running (but knocking) truck back to a running truck with new motor (sitting in a crate). Code59 initial tune also.

My dads shop has a hoist, all the tools I will need. I am sure my dad will be there to hand me tools since I don't know where they are in his shop, owner of ty will be there to help organize parts as they come off, going into labeled bags, etc.

Anybody think I can have it fired up by friday night, leaving saturday for the final cleanup details, tune?

Lets see I have a twinturbov8 truck to finish assembling, a tytanic to redo the complete suspension on (4link), turbo, dp and code59 tune. All before Aug8th.

This should be a fun 2 months. Yehaw.

Will a small dose of meth hurt me? Will I be able to stay awake for a few days straight?

cool stuff, the only things that always go wrong are missing and broken parts , so you get stranded along the way, been there done that a few times now. those are always nice things to do, and the beer drinking and getting drunk late, and the getting up early and restart were you left just sets the hangover a step or 2 back.
cool stuff man!

Dude, the PAS guys did motor swaps in a matter of *hours* when the magazine writers blew 'em up.

My dads shop is more equipped than my own is, more room to work, etc. His tools are organized also, unless you consider my "shop" organized which nobody probably would.

I dont' know exactly where everything is though, but he will be there to be my wrench bitch so I can spout verbal commands like 10mm wrench and it should magically appear in my hand.

The hoist will help also.

I don't drink so I am good there.

Here is the engine. Be the 4th engine going in and hopefully the last for awhile.

I would say most of the cleaning won't be a huge hassle.

bezerk worked hard when he came - you have to make them work though as theses travelling workers want to drink beer and party the whole time :)

I think you will have no problem with your dad shop, because he knows where everything is. I will even go out on a limb and say engine change out with-in 12 hrs based on how clean that engine bay is. That includes cleaning up the tools and ready for tuning. That way you can have some time to hang out with Dad .

damn you might need to wear gloves to swap that so you don't get it messy but with enough monsters and red bull 12-18 hours seems pretty doableespecially one that clean. i don't see alot of broken bolts with that engine. i've done other non sy/ty in 12-18 that are more complicated.

He did mention some kind of booth or something I had to go in/out of before touching it.

Doable with the right help and no hiccups. Try to take a break, even if short, once in awhile. You might pre-purchase some breakables like sensors. Good parts man will let you return them if untouched. Make sure you have all necessary gaskets. Have fun.
