Engine/Valve train noise

I started to notice some noise what sounded like a loose rocker. I pulled the valve covers and went through the valve adjustment.Noise is still there. Possible roller lifter failing? Not pumping up? New owner to this syclone and was told motor was rebiult at 14,000 miles.

Where did you find the ACDelco PF51? I can only find PF52 and was told that it supersedes PF51 and is an equivalent or better replacement, so that is what I have used exclusively for the duration of my Sy ownership (1 yr). Also I think the Turbo Buick guys also use this filter. Thanks in advance,

Infamous "injector tick"? That must be what I'm hearing on my truck with 50K original miles! I ran two bottles of RedLine injector cleaner through my truck last week and now one of the injectors is making a rapid tick, tick noise that varies with engine RPM. I don't think there's anything wrong with the injectors but that noise is bothersome. I think the injector cleaner worked too well, he he.

Tookycat you are right
To correct earlier, the filter is a PF52.
I know its not the injector tick,I am getting ready to go inside the motor. It gives me a reason to change the cam.

How do you know it's NOT injector problem? If the injectors and fuel rail are adjusted wrong on your manifold, the injectors are hitting the intake manifold and the injector ticking noise is traveling to heads and making a knocking noise, just like a valve train knock. If i were you i would listen with a stetoscoope before i starting to tear down something that is working fine, but that's just my $0.02

How do you measure the manifold for adjustment of the fuel rail? I mean, how do you know how low to place the rail on the injectors? My fuel rail's bolt flanges have slotted holes to do just such a thing. I don't have a knock problem but was very curious as to how you know when it is adjusted right.

well you generally wamt to more the injectors as far up as you can before they come out of the manifold or rail...that way nothings too tight....the injectors are going to tick no matter what you do to them..the only way to stop it is to replace them with another brand
