Escalade Turbo! Now with pics 56K beware

I know it's not SyTy powered but it is GM. I recently talked my brother in to becoming a dealer for STSTurbos. This is the rear mounted system that is all the buzz. Alot of people have talked smack about them but the results show these systems make power and really move down the quarter.

So i decided I would buy one for the Escalade, I'm gonna use a GT67 which is an upgrade over the standard 60-1 kit as well as a Boost-a-pump and 60lb injectors. Intercooler will come shortly after. I will be using Diablosport software to tune it and hopefully it will run what I am expecting. I am not gonna post what I think it will do, only what it is really tested at. I will do baseline dyno runs so we can see real power increases. I am not sure if you guys are even interested in seeing it or not I just thought I would share with you my new project. If all goes well and I don't get rid of the wifes car I might do that one too.

I should have my parts by friday and I hope to install them on saturday or sunday with pics to follow.
Wish me luck!

Go for it! I am interested as my Denali may want one if it works well. ;)

Re: Escalade Turbo!

The standard kit sells for 3995 but I'm sure I can get it cheaper for you guys. What years are your Denali and Yukon? 4.8 5.3 or 6.0?
I ask because 04-05 need to have fuel upgrades from the get-go and I want to be upfront with the pricing.

Re: Escalade Turbo!

I'm sure the system would work, I'd just worry about boost lag. Just think of all of that plumbing you would have to pressurize, and how long the exaust has to travel before it gets to the turbo. I'm not saying that it isn't a sweet idea, just that it would work better if it were underhood.

Keep us posted, and get a vid

12.88 on 24" wheels is what they did. They also have AWD and I am 2WD.

They have alot of money into it. I am willing to put the same money out to see if I can do the same or better.

They have slowed the truck down it was eating transmissions faster then they could install them. I have several buddies who work there

Proper turbo sizing just becomes more critical......Ever thought about the length of the tubing in a FMIC setup? I bet if you laid it all out flat it would be near the same as a non-intercooled rear mount setup.....

To the otehr guys.....Is Livermois the same people I've seen the video of the 2 escalade going down the track. One is in the 12's the other in the LOW 13's???

Re: Escalade Turbo!

I used 3 x 180* doing my FMIC on the Omni. Total plumbing used is less than 4'.

Doubt you can make that happen on a fullsized truck though.....

Re: Escalade Turbo!

The difference would be significant still. Any that way you still get the addition of the intercooler.

From my understanding the surface area of the charge pipe is close to the same as an intercooler.

Not saying I completely understand the physics of it all, but in practice it has proven to not be as big of a deal as people expect it to be. I don't think they would be selling nearly as well if there were serious lag issues.......

There is also an intercooler setup to go with the truck, just not part of the base kit.
Proper sizing of the exhaust housing and wheels used are the compensating factors of lag.

Re: Escalade Turbo!

I friend of mine put one on the rear of his 98 SS camero. No lag all. Impressed me! I believe it was a gt67 turbo, but I could be wrong. Wiped out the trans in short order though.
