Just wondering if anyone else here has ever lost skin to the two vampire-like “teeth” that hang down off the rear differential:
Normally I just drag my backbone across one (which is exquisite) but this time I was sliding on my back underneath the truck and wound up hooking my kneecap instead.
As I lay there bleeding, I began to wonder… just why the heck are they there? I can’t imagine any useful purpose, or why the housing has to be cast with fangs in order to function. Is this some sadistic engineer’s idea of a joke?
Or is this how the truck defends itself against idiot mechanics?
