Evo VII

Had a runnin with one the other day. I still had the sy set for the track 18psi and it was a reaaal good race on the freeway. Those things are faster than I thought they would be. The guy just looked over at me and smiled then took off. We ran up to about 125. Icould only get about 1 car length on him. At least I didnt pay that much for mine. I would like to get him at a light though :lol:

i think those things, (although too much money for me) look like a nice ride. i've seen a blue and a white one at a dealer up the road from me at school, always wanted to stop by and check it out but never did. nice kill though, i'd like to see how the are from a stop light also.

They dont cost that much. They cost a little more than the syclones new? Are you sure it was real? They dont say Lancer Evo Vll, just Lancer evolution. Dont go sounding like the Lightning guys. well you paid more, I tow more, blah blah....Fast is Fast and these things are goin to be fast. Theres a guy with a SRT 4 at my track running 12.9/13.0s with free mods and slicks. The Lancers have 271 hp, they are going to fly. The only problem is that they are pushing 19lbs of boost stock so the boost potential is not that high.
 
It was real you could hear the turbo. had the stock wing like in the tv ad and it wasnt all riced out dont know how long that will last.

Yep that's ture you have only the Evo VIII. 8) BTW, from a roll a stock Sy would loose against one... I've seen a completely stock one going 87 mph in the 1/8...

I drove one last week. fun car. Didn't feel THAT much faster than my wrx, but my butt dyno hasn't been workin too well recently. Tight handling, loud turbo air.....fun car to drive. Interior is even shittier than my wrx's though. The brembo brakes, drilled rotors, fmic...makes the car pretty nice lookin imho.

I just went to the dealer today and they wouldn't let me drive one. They wanted 5k and then i could go. F that! I just wanted to lauch the f'er. :fist: I was reading that it comes with water injection stock! I don't see how that turbo is pushing 19. It looks like my girls eclipse t25 turbo. On the sheet it says twin spooling. What the hell is that?

I've seen about 3 or 4 brand new EVO's running around town here lately but haven't been able to line up with one yet. It's going to be so fun smoking some poor guy in a brand new $30K+ EVO, he he. The WRX's have been my favorites lately 'cause I see them everywhere and it seems like most of the drivers think they're driving an F1 car or something :lol:

I believe the sheet you refer to says Twin Scroll turbo. The turbo on the Evo 8 is a 16G equivalent.

First of all, it only spikes to 19 psi- its down to 16 or 15 by red line. The twin scroll turbine housing keeps the 2 sets of exhaust gas pulses seperate, and supposadly helps spoolup. So far the fastes I've seen the evo go stock is 13.1 in the 1/4. The one I drove moved prety good, but did not fell like it was worth 30k, plus they don't come with cruise control. :( but the aftermarket looks very promising, they come with a bottom end that should be able to handle 450-500 hp stock(that is unless mitsu cheaped out on the internals like they did on the 2g dsm) a nice big fmic stock, recaro seats(that felt about 108450858x better than the seats in my talon). They come with a sprayer for the fmic, not water injection.

The dealership I went to let me and my pops test drive it with out so much as a word(the sales guy did come with us, but I bet it was the first time he had ever been along for an awd launch). It looks as mitsu aleast did somthing right- they come with mobil one 10w30 full synthetic from the factory, and a sticker on the oil cap telling you thats the oil you should put back in it.

The evos are high 13's best off the showroom floor. Most run low 14's at the track due to owners lack of talent. I dont really care about the stateside EVO at the dragstrip. I want to run one down a nice dirt road, sideways...

EVO's are baddass, I have 5 customers that have them.

3 of the are running high 12's with only intake, full exhaust, and Vishnu ECU Reflash.

1 is going low 12's with same as above and also 264/272 HKS cams & gears on 4 Drag Radials.

The other is an employee of mine and has everything above and a custom Precision Turbo (67mm), With a custom Stainless tubular Manifold, Custom PWR Intercooler. We are trying the prototype AEM EMS on it with 850cc injectors(without much luck) he hasn't had it at the track yet but seat of the pants I think it will go 10's with traction.

I love my EVo and it is stock. :D Driving this car give's me more time to modify my Ty, keep's the mileage off the truck(Only 30 mile's in 4 month's), and it still idle's perfectly. :eek: I am thinking of getting a reflash in the ECU so it will boost 19 psi to red-line in every gear this month.

Does everyone think 0-60 in 4.6 second's stock is slow??? 0X
