Some a**hole pulled out in front of me tonite on snow/ice mix and I couldn't stop due to weather and the fact that I was already into the intersection when he started turning, and another TY goes down. It's all screwed up, hood, bumper, grill, headlight, quarter panel, cladding, passenger door, radiator, overfill, battery, stereo, everything. I couldn't open the hood, so I'm not sure about the turbo and downpipe, but my guess so far is a rough estimate of $10,000 or so. Anyone do great body work? Oh, and smaug, I have some broken cladding for you, let me know if you're interested. Hope all your trucks are running well, Im gonna be depressed for 2 weeks now. I'll be turning to you guys for kills and inspiration. Later guys!!

Sorry to hear about your misfortune :( . At least you are still in one piece... I tip my hat to those of you who drive in the winter time because I couldn't/won't do it. Some folks don't have the luxury of NOT driving I know. Hope that everything works out for you.

Thanks Mike, I'm gonna go take a look at it tomorrow. Hopefully there will be some sunlight around that area so I can see what needs done. By what the weather guys say, I'm outta luck on good weather. You have no idea how hard I'm kickin my own ass for not buying a beater this winter. I had one all set, but never went around to buy it. Way to go!!!!!!!!!

Well I have only 3 things to say
1. Hope your ok
2. Hope the A-hole that hit you had insurance
3. Sorry to hear about it and good luck

Wait, 4 things.
4. If the insurance totals it and you don't want to buy it back, let me know, I might be interested.

hey man same thing happened to me a few monthes back, alls i can say is dont let them total it, you dont want that on your carfax! Fix it up, find some used parts and save some $! and make sure the insurace adjuster doesnt think its a blazer! mine did!

Sorry to hear about your misfortune, and I'm glad to hear you weren't hurt.
I'm sure you know this, but I'll say it anyway. The more documentation you can produce to the insurance adjuster the better. Make them understand there is a huge difference between your Ty and some POS S-15 Jimmy, cause they may try to give you the value to one of those  .
Also, if the $ they offer you isn't what you think it's worth, don't accept their offer. I went through this a few years ago after some AHole ran a stop sign and totalled my Blazer. It took me about 6 weeks of fighting with them, but they eventually broke down and gave me what it was worth.
On another note, it is a good idea to have your truck appraised annually by someone that knows syty's. It would be handy to have when this kind of Sh!t happens.
Good luck with your Ty, I hope you can rebuild it and get it back on the road! It would be a shame if it ends up rotting in a salvage yard all parted out

What he said.

I had an appraisal done on my truck back in 2001, and recently called AAA to ask if I should have them done regularly. They said it wasn't necessary, that the one I have would be sufficient. Every insurance company is different though.

I've said this before, but I'll say it agian. Its not too late to have an appraisal done. Find a good body shop and have your truck taken straight there, have it towed, whatever. Once its there the shop will help you work with your insurance to have it repaired. This is when you have the appraiser go in, because its usually a percentage of what the damage total is......will determine if the insurance will pay. For example, if the damage exceeds 75% of the value, then they will probably total it.. BUT if you have an appraisal done and that shows what your truck is really worth, then you will have a better chance at getting it repaired.

Good luck, and sorry to hear about this.

I have decided to have the entire truck repainted back to factory gloss black. I think I have most of the cladding needed, except for the front bumper skin, so if anyone has a new plastic one sitting around, I'm interested. Either email me at cliffey83@neb.rr.com or PM me. Thanks

yeah, it could have been a lot worse. i'm glad i cranked the wheel and clipped just the corner, instead of a regular t-bone. that would have been a lot worse. we'll just see what the estimate says tomorrow. oh, and i may be looking for a green/grey with about 50K or less if anyone's got one.
