Small anecdote first, then questions. Questions in bold
From day one my intercooler system has not worked.
Bought truck with no pump, so I bought Johnson pump,
then lower CCHE leaks, So I got loaner CCHE from local member,
then brackets for CCHE are rusted, so I made new lower bracket and sides , and screwed up and weld the ears on wrong. I think I am destined to not have air to water. Fine. I can live with that.

I am going to convert to A2A. After I do this I do 3 bar map and work up the boost to 18-20. I forsee Alky to compliment the a2a.
I intend to follow :Motormouth's: and ?someone elses? build with Saab 9000 core.
I will fab up my own piping.
From Search I have weak answers to the following questions:
Stock Turbo can be clocked?
But I have to go with external wastegate because the wastegate actuator won't work?

So I would have to do the above, and piping.
What are recommendations for the external wastegate? Low cost but effective is the language I speak.
Is this feasable / worthwhile on stock turbo? While I am doing this I will be swapping to another, tighter stock turbo with ported housing. I may be able to swing 20G if lucky, but not much more $$.
Alot of opinions say a2a is better for street. This is my daily driver. Opinions?
I am trying to get all the needed parts/ areas of concern thought about ahead of time, so I don't get hung up.
Can you think of anything else I may need?

Any input will be appreciated. If you would like more info, please let me know. Truck is stock, with K & N filter, no cat, flowmaster muffler dumping at axle.

GM TURBO

Sell Out
Justin (THEMADTYPHOON) has done A2A on a stock truck. He didn't fab up his own - but the same rules apply.

The stock turbo can be clocked.

Best cheapest external gate is the ITS Minigate. $240 from RaceProvenMotors.com.

If you are looking bigger and badder down the road - I'd say do it. There is nothing wrong with A2A.

It is also extremely easy to make a bracket that will allow you to use the stock wastegate actuator after the turbo has been clocked. That is IF you really want to use the stock wastegate...

Thanks guys.

Grinding the dowel will be no problem.

I think I would feel more comfortable with the external gate, in case I can afford a larger turbo down the road.
