fast questoin about removing the starter

do i have ot take off the tc cover or will it comeout without , i have been messing with it for an hr and i cant get it out, i was gettin real pissed so i just said **** it and i will retry it tomarrow

ifi have to take off the tc cover i cant get the last bolt out that driveshaft is blocking it

I posted a response to something earlier about this, but don't remember where. Well, in short. You do not have to take the cover off. I almost did that too, but figured out the way to do it...lol.... Take the two bolts off that hold the starter up, then push the end of the starter thats towards the front of the car all the way up ( almost to where the starter is straight up and down) then push it over towards the door. The starter should slide into a little pocket up there and the nipple end will slide down at your face, so hold on to it tight. Hope this helps. I had to do it like 5 times per day for like 3 days straight!!!!! :rant:

mine also went out when removing the cover and the 2 screws that hold the starter thight ... but it slammed down itself - and destroyed the thin cable of the two :steamer: (cableboot needed to be redone , what a PITA in this thight spot *grmmml*)

so i suggest : take everything apart and be prepared the whole things trieing to come down

have fun w/ those fawkin cables , but it's doable - we're with you *gg* :tup:

Those starters are a b1tch. If I remember correctly there was alot of twisting the back of the starter up and to the side. Let us know when you get it out and how. Good luck.

i guess i will keep my truck now, i got the starter off lol i had to take off the tc cover what a a pain in the ass well it wasnt that bad after i got the bolts broke loose from the shaft
