Re: FAST XFI help.

the fuel pump isn't powered by the ecm w/ the casper harness. you'll have to find another way to trigger it. i put mine on an ignition powered relay. you might be able to tap into the intercooler pump wiring to turn on the relay for the fuel pump. did you put the esc module in?

Re: FAST XFI help.

The esc module is in.
I jumped the fuel pump, but it still wont start. Do i need to do something else to get it running ?
Timing is set to factory 0 deg, is that okay for XFI ? I base tune from Detroit Turbo.

Thanks

Re: FAST XFI help.

where are you jumping it at? the connector on the firewall? should work there. how much did the base tune cost you? or did it come with your xfi unit? you're fine on the 0 degree base timimg but you can only go with 1 degree on your xdf file.

Re: FAST XFI help.

The base program came with FAST. Yes i used connector on firewall (temp)
What do you mean 1 degree xfd file ?

Re: FAST XFI help.

do you have a laptop you can hook up to it? you should be able to connect with the fast software and view the configuration file. if you open the fast help file, it will walk you through setting the system up step by step. have you verified with a fp gauge you have no fp?

Re: FAST XFI help.

Do you have spark?

Do you have injector pulse?

Verify on the laptop that all the sensor readings are correct.. CTS/TPS/IAC/ect...

The XFI should have a fuel pump prime/run circuit. Might not be in the harness adaptor but it's hard for me to beleive that it's not a option on the XFI as it's standard on the old FAST like mine.

Let us know what you find,
Scott~

Re: FAST XFI help.

Has spark, XFI has circuit for fuel pump, but the casper harness does'n , that sucks!
The injectors wont fire. The tech help at FAST said its because i only have 9.5 volts at the ECM when cranking. Tomorow i'm going to borrow a big battery charger , since my only charges 6 amps, i'll see if that helps.

Re: FAST XFI help.

Today i found out that there seams to be a problem with Casper harness (WTF)
XFI is sending injector signal to fire, but its NOT getting to injectors! Theres is power to one side of injectors but NO pulse from XFI.

WHY ME??????????????

Re: FAST XFI help.

Hummm.... You should be getting a +Positive from the pink/black wires (Fuse block side) and then the other colors should be grounding from the XFI.

See if your getting pulse from the box it's self.
Maby a few of the pins are in the wrong location? Call John Spina there at Caspers .. (owner) SUPER cool guy and damn smart too!
Let me know what he says!!!

if you powered the gray connector by the firewall and you're not getting the fuel pump to come on, there's a problem with the pump. you can power this plug, then go to the connector by the sending unit and see if you're getting 12 volts there. if you are, it's either the pump or the sending unit. went through this a month ago on the sy.

Re: FAST XFI help.

After talking to XFI people and Casper, the conclution is that the wiring is wrong on Casper injector cannector to XFI !
Only 2 wires (cylinders) are correct, 3 are wrong, and 1 is missing, no wire in the connector.
John at Casper said that the wiring where done according to FAST instructions.
I'll be trying to correct the wiring, and see what happens.
The fuel pump works if i jump it from firewall connector.

Theres NOTHING better than buying a part and then finding out it f**cked up.

Re: FAST XFI help.

it wouldn't be a sy/ty if everything worked right the first try. call again if you need help and i'll try.
