As I an working on my truck a few things came up that I need help with.

1) What filter intake setup will work with the RPM A2A and alky setup. It looks tight in my passanger fenderwell for an air cleaner??? ANy pics???

2) My new CBR brakes leak at the caliper where you put those 2 brass washers. I tried 15lbs...leaks, 20lbs...leaks????help. Both sides do it but one is bad. I tried new washers but it still does it???

3) my trans pan started to leak today. I checked the bolts and all were loose. 2 I was able to remove by hand. What torque is good. I torqued them all to 20lbs for now???

I am convinced that midgets built our trucks. I am only 5foot 9 but with a medium build (170lbs) and working on my sy it always a tight fit. Thanks guys, Gary

Re: few questions for the pro's

I ordered a 3" cobra fitting but I still dont know if a filter would fit. I took a look at Jeremys Sy and I think I will copy that setup.

Move battery in or under the bed & you will have plenty of room.
You'll need a 3" rubber 90, 2 pieces of 3"dia. x 4" aluminum tubing & a 3" x approx. 10" cone filter.

If you look at the "engine" pic here: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/rbippus@sbcglobal.net/album?.dir=fd86&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http%3a//pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/rbippus@sbcglobal.net/my_photos
I have a 4" cobra, 4" 90 & a 4" x 10" cone filter that all fits where the battery was, along with the 3" IC tubing.

If you want to make sure you only pull cold air in, build a box around it & seal the pass. side fender.

For number 2) just throwing ideas out there for you.
Did you throw away both of the old brass crush fittings or are they still on there?
Did you put 1 new fitting on each side of the line?
Are those 15 and 20 lbs settings what you torqued the line down with, did you get those numbers from CBR?
You might to check that those fittings are the right size and not too large for the opening.
I have never done this kit, just trying to picture it and throw some ideas your way.

Re: few questions for the pro's

CBR recomended 14lbs. My wrench only goes down to 15. I figured 15 is close enough. I was told by my friend to back it of and tighten it down a few times to seat the washers. Trans is still leaking. I have to get under there again. :(

Re: few questions for the pro's

I've never torqued a line bolt down on anything i've ever worked on just wasn't sure if that kit needed something special sounds like it doesn't.
Did you double check to make sure you didn't have any washers doubled up on the lines?
Does that kit require you to use different brake lines or do you just reuse the stock lines?

You might PM George or Waller on the tourqe of the tranny pan, I don't know it off the top of my head, but I do know they can be easily stripped so don't go too far without any idea of a proper torque.

Re: few questions for the pro's

Your tranny pan leaks should be easy to fix, assuming you have a cast aluminum pan. Go get yourself some blue LocTite (medium strength) and spray all the pan bolts and threads in the trans itself out with carb cleaner. This will remove any oil residue from the threads and will allow the LocTite to do its job. I have had differential cover and transmission pan bolts come loose numerous times. Doesn't matter if you torque them correctly or not - they will vibrate out. After using LocTite, I've never had a bolt come loose...the stuff works great. It's just a little extra step you need to take during reassembly, but it's well worth the effort.

Re: few questions for the pro's

CBR is great. He is sending me new parts. It is either the banjo bolt or the brass block. My guess is the bolt. It looks to be bent just a bit and does not seat the washer. I tried to but a bolt for a camaro but the one got was too big. Not sure what calipers they are exactly.

Re: few questions for the pro's

Cool glad to see its getting resolved. I thought you were having trouble with both calipers leaking, are both bolts bent?

Re: few questions for the pro's

The other side is fine. I backed off the bolt and reseated it down. Has not leaked yet.
