few questions

ok i have some questions, but first a history. I have been basicly trying to make a typhoon for a few years now, buying parts here and there and beating around the bush. I didnt want the initall cost or responsiblity of owning a collectable (imo). I just got a supercharged frontier crew cab about 6 months ago trying to be responsible. never sold my ty project, couldnt let it go. Ive decided to ditch the nissan and just take the plunge. probably a syclone though.. I have a ton of new spare performance parts around so i guess i win in the long run.. now the questions.

I have not seen a syclone with leather, was that not an option?
was the sy made in any other color than black (execption of marlboros few)

What WERE the options?

I have great credit (bank didnt flinch at the 12k for the nissan) but now hard will it be to finance an 15 yr old truck for 10k or so?

I have an 06 raptor 700 (4wheeler), do you think it would be safe to carry around in the bed? Ive read about tranny mods, but dont they have a cooler built in the radiator?

What gearing do most of them have?

How is the gas mileage?

I guess thats enough, thanks for the help.. I could have searched btu that would take hours and probably not have been direct awnsers

Re: few questions

The sy's only came in black , none came with leather , and the bed can only hold 500lbs although mine has had alot more then that in the bed...I dont know about the other stuff that you asked. good luck

Re: few questions

Can be tough to finance,
All had 3.42 gears,
Gas mileage varies vehical to vehical 15-20 is a very ballpark #,
You do need to try and search, if you don't and tell people it will anger some of the demons

Re: few questions

I financed 10k and put 3k down. Got it at 6%. not bad for a 15 year old truck.

Re: few questions

If looking to finance. You must tell them it's under vehicle of particular interest. Gas mileage is not that great. Imagine throwing dollars signs out the tailpipe.

Gas: 12-16 for me
Seats: You can put Ty seats or even 96+ blazer seats...i forget what Roland did to his, but it turned out pretty nice.
$$$ Not easy as they tend to sell for a little bit more than KBB value...I got as much as I could and ended up doing the tax and lic. on a line of credit. No big deal if you are good at paying things off and are disiplined.

keep in mind that things break as they are old...you'll pay more in the long run getting a beat up truck and fixing it than paying exta now and getting a nice running, well take'n care of truck.

Re: few questions

well with the s/c frontier im getting a best of about 16 .. town or not. I have a blazer ive been dumping money into, so im not worried about parts.. i got a fully built block, the highest flowing fuel pump i could find, new alt, new batt, new brakes, new shocks, a new turbo, new bearings, new rear end, new tranny, new high perf. ps pump, power pullys, belt, ac compressor.. id basicly be switching all my new stuff from the blazer to the ty/sy.. selling my blazer (and actually not feel bad cause im giving away tons of money in parts) and i got the turbo vehical ive wanted for years.. i might have to do a line of credit loan but any way i see it i win. I think i want a ty instead of a sy.. the only thing getting me is the truck for the 4 wheeler.. i dont know how much weight the ty will tow but i odnt have a trailer anyway

sounds like your are in the market for a nice looking sy/ty with high miles...that will help lower the price since you are planning to swap motors. find one with a good body and you sound good to go.

Options none. If you have good credit,
I would try capital one auto finance.

Every automatic I have seen has a radiator tranny cooler. You need another cooler. I would personally use a small trailer, but it would fit. It would be PIA to remove the stock tonneau cover everytime.

Re: few questions

I thought there was one option or something wasn't there? Maybe it was the upgrade to the radio with the graphic equalizer? Mine doesn't have it but I have seen some trucks that had it and was told that it came like that. :dunno:

Re: few questions

Financing? No sweat. Like the gentleman above said, Capitol One Auto Finance. You can apply online and have a response back faster than you can get a refill. They dont give a damn what you're buying as most banks would. I think its all based on your credit. Just aim high and they'll tell you what they're willing to loan you. Used em twice, btw.

Re: few questions

i appreciate the help guys. id need a sy/ty with a motor already unfortunatly. I do need the fuel system and intake .. mainly the fuel system and computer. Im not willing to part with 2k for a stand alone fuel system.. which is what stopped me from turbo'ing my blazer.. so anyone want a mint S/C frontier?
