First person to use Vortec heads?

My Dad and I have been wondering this question. Who was the 1st person to convert to Vortec heads and to think of modifing the Lower intake??

Just curious, we just got done with my Vortec head/Cam swap.

I built my engine in the spring of 2000, don't think I was the very first but i had to be close.

Waller was also 2000 IIIRC.

I remember when I first joined in 2001 it was pretty common to double up the intake gaskets instead of welding up the intake.

I had my first ones back in early 2000. Richard Burns from Flowtech did mine. He did the head and intake work on the Stokes motors.

Jerry McCoy did my vortec heads and modded my lower intake early in the year of 1999. He was running them on his truck then and had already done several sets for others.

Mccoy did mine in 2001 double gasket setup and re drilled manifold. Lots of silicone also on front and back of manifold

Picked up a set from mccoy and had them reported and o ringed here in Denver since hardly much much done.
