First run-in with a new SRT-10 viper

Well today was a GOOOOOOOOOOD day ! ! ! On my lunch break, I went over to grab something to eat on Hurstbourne Lane and 22 here in Louisville, KY. I saw something red up ahead after pulling out of taco bell and didn't really pay it much attention till I saw it take off when the light turned green. I was about 8-9 cars back in the next lane over. I worked my way thru traffic to get a better look and saw the next light up ahead turn red. I was still 3 cars back and was not going to make it when all the sudden a car in the other lane ahead put his turn signal on to turn and held up traffic. It was now or never. I decided go for it and made it up beside the 05 viper at the light. This was to good to be true I was thinking to myself. I rolled the window down so the driver could see me and was talking to him to try and get him to roll his window down also. He went for it and dropped his window. I said nice car, I was thinking about getting one till I found out that Syclones were quicker... You should have seem his face. I bet he never even realized his mouth was open for like 5 seconds before he simply put up his window and proceeded to stair at the light. The lanes to my feft were 2 turning lanes and the light went green. We were next ! ! ! I swapped out my PTE-44 turbo for a PTE63 big shaft two days ago and was still working on tuning it in. I held the breaks and only built about 3-4 PSI. The light turned green and I jumped about 1/2 the intersection on him right there. I stayed in it till I hit 60-70 MPH. Plenty enough fo have 3-4 cars on him easy. The funny thing was the next light was turning yellow and it was gonna be on again. I slowed down and he put his turn signal on to turn into a shopping center. I saw it and turned in ahead of him. He pulled into a parking spot out by the road and was talking on his cell phone. I pulled up next to him and rolled the window down again to talk and get his reaction and he just sat there and ignored me. We were the only cars around for 100 feet. I left after that with a smile on my face that is still there right now.

Sounds like you are a lucky man. The only race i have got was with a kid in a crx that thought he was bad. Shut him up lol. I dont even think there are any vipers out where i live and i think you pretty much won the lottery of races. As Napoleon Dynamite says "Lucky!"

I don't really think I was LUCKY. I am running in the low 7's in the 1/8th with only 17 PSI and 21* total timing and there have been several vipers out at the track, new and old, not running in the 7's at all. I mostly race bikes anymore. 600's are no contest 900's and 1000's are F U N ! ! !

Can't wait to turn up the boost and turn on the ALKY. Should see high 6's in the spring when the track opens back up.

The older vipers run in the 8.50's and the newer ones in the 8.30's stock at the tracks I go to. I can beat em by like 20 truck lenghs. Good job Will!

At any rate, good run at the Viper will. I'm guessing you went to the taco bell @ springhurst? Theres alot of guys with alot of cashola over there which means they have fast cars they can't drive and big ego's....easy picking for sure.

seeing there are no 1/4 mile tracks around here. I can only go by 1/8 mile times. The best 1/8 mile time was a 7.7 with the pte44 and 17 PSI boost and no alky. So you are saying I will not see 6.9's with a pte63 bigshaft and 26-28 psi and ALKY? Wanna put some money on it. I sure could use a FREE coilover kit :lol:

one of you has a Non-turbo S10 - slower than slow
one has a Typhoon garage ornament - Slower than the s10 :rotf:
and the other still has a mostly stock Sy - Not slow but slower than me :lol:

I am sorry Will you cant drive more than 20 miles from home without getting lost. There are only 3-4 1/4 mile tracks within 2hr drive.

I am guessing though without AC it is hard to ride in a black truck in the summer though during racing season. :tup:

So how much money you want to put on it? 6's are NOT in your current outlook. Just the same as me driving my Typhoon. Aint going to happen anytime soon.

Ahhh, but I'm NOT the one that keeps cancelling race appointments . I said it before and I'll say it again....from a dig, you will jump out but in the end, I'm not so sure you'll be ahead. From a 20-25 mph roll into the 1/4, you are toast; burnt toast at that AND there will be video for all to see! Anybody can post anything....just look at this thread. Put up some proof please.
