by your 60' times your launch is way off, and seems maybe you have some spool up issues. I got a 1.9 60' with launching from idle, no boost at all.
how to race at the track is a whole nother beast for sure. this is what I have learned since owning my personal money pit
1. a good launch is paramount in these trucks, at first don't worry about reaction times, they will just mess you up. When you are starting out and tuning you need to be more worried about launching a specific way everytime, not reaction times. Each truck is different and likes to launch at a certain PSI. Find you sweet spot and start working from there.
2. trip the staging lights and then put it in neutral and rev the motor once or twice, to help build vaccum and hold the brakes harder. Then pull it back to drive, not overdrive, I believe this will give you a little better line pressure and make things engage that normally wouldn't in OD, a tranny guy can jump in and explain better I'm sure. I usually start to build boost as soon as the second light goes yellow, not to the floor but let it start to creep up slow, then when the lights start to click down I bascially floor it and have good boost for a launch (between 8-10 lbs for my truck).
3. You have to be very careful in these truck though, you will have to figure out the sweet spot of the launch for YOUR truck. Cause if you are launching with to much power then you are going to hurt you 60' due to wheel spin. But there have been some who have reported great 60' times with just launching at whatever they can hold with the brakes and just try to keep it straight in the lane. Seems a little excessive(but funner) to me, but each his own I guess.
4. as far as getting your tune on, that is a whole nother can of worms. naturally you shoot for zero knock at all times. keep the IAT's down, ice is very important for this. good luck figuring out the NOS spray, it will greatly cool things down but will also add extra fuel to the equation, which will slow spool up amoungst other things.
5. your MPH is pretty good and should net you a low 13 sec pass, but with a 20g you should be able to get it much lower, but that gets into the can of worms we were talking about, along the lines of chip burning, WBO2 tuning, blah, blah, blah.
basically you just have to play around with YOUR truck and see how it likes to be treated at the track, some go fast with a good beating, others need more finess to get there. sorry for rambling on if you knew this already, just seemed like you were new to syty's in general. good luck and keep us posted on the times.
