if people knows what the hell Sy/Tys are (Lord knows sometimes I wonder if anyone on the road knows what the hell my truck really is), I actually post a lot on the late model Camaro and Mustang boards - yeah I know some of you hate those Rustangs - but from what I've experienced all of the LS1/LT1 guys love Syclones and Typhoons and a lot of the Cobra guys really like them as well. I've never heard anything but positive feedback on Sy/Tys from those types of boards.

The other night there was a guy with a mint Silver LS1 WS6 at a local cruise spot and he told me I had a sweet truck. That's a hell of a compliment coming from someone with a car like that.

I don't post a lot, I mainly just search, and some of you guys seem like real pricks :wink: and I'm sure some of you don't give a shit what people think of your truck, but I just think it's kind of cool that many of the muscle car enthusiasts really like these rare little trucks and are curious to learn more about them since they are sort of "mysterious" in a way. 8)

P.S. I know you guys like tearing up the NEWBS, but take it easy on me ok? I'm a little :drinking: :wink:

dont be surprised that just because someone drives a ford or camaro and hangs around in a forum, they dont like syclones or anyone else. only an idiot would dislike someone for what they drive. ive hung out on the ford lightning forums and those guys are great, their friendlier than alot of the knowitall morons here. there are a whole lot of good guys here but there are a great number of idiots. in my experience, and you can test this yourself, ive found no smartass remarks on the lightning forum, but this forum is riddled with it. i love lightnings and mustangs and camaros, i love the fact that theres other vehicles out there, because if everyone drove a syclone no one here would have anything special. its kinda like the sports thing, i cant tolerate most sports fans because they act like idiots. they hate anyone that is on another team, or cheers for another team, they start fights over it, because their too damned stupid to understand they need the other team, otherwise there would be no one else to play. one team just standing there on the field or court by themselves, looking stupid. in california last week a man shot and killed another because he favored the other team. brilliant. go to a childrens game league and its always about the parents, not about the kid. you find that same mentality in cars, some dumbass in a (example) syclone looks at a guy in a lightning or mustang as the enemy because of what he drives. brilliant. i used to own three two 8 second mustangs and one 7 second. wow, i must hate myself now. i like mustangs, camaros and lightnings and a lot of rice burners. and the guys that drive them for the most part are cool like anyone else, but theres always an idiot. dont look at anyone for what they drive, its stupid. just wave and say hey, i like your car. and throw up a friendly race. Hint.....who knows he may have owned your kind of car once and favors it. (like me). i have a friend that loooooooves syclones, but he cant fit in one, so he had to buy a lightning. hes a great guy, thats no surprise. anyhow, this wasnt supposed to be smartassed in any way...... im just saying it shouldnt be a surprise that these guys are nice. and its no mystery that there is very very few of these trucks, THEY ARE RARE, i love explaining what my truck is, that tells me that its rare, and that makes it more valuable. every week someone comes up to me and says, wow, ive heard of these trucks but have never seen one. i love that.

There's always going to be the 'bad apples' whereever you go considering there are billions of people in this world and everyone with their own ideas of right and wrong, just a fact of life I suppose.

The Sy/Ty's seem to go unnoticed on most streets, but then you get that guy that is just in love (in a purely automotive sense, ) with these trucks that just sit/stand/whatever and stare as you go by. The other day I brought the Sy out to a HUGE annual carshow here in BC (the Langley Good-Times Cruise-in) I was stopped at a light when my g/f looks over and sees this younger guy stop dead in his tracks, jaw dropped to pavement, slowly remove his shades and stared at the Sy, she said he kept staring as I took my left turn and dissappeard down the road. I'm thinking mine was the first Sy he's seen in person, I dont know. But its kinda cool to see that kinda interest in our "mysterious" trucks. Of course maybe he was just staring at my girlfriend. lol

As for getting noticed.... I ALWAYS get people staring at my truck. When i have my dump off, even more people turn around, look in rear view mirror, or comment on my truck.

Oh, and about hating mustang owners... I met a cool young guy who had a blown GT. Gave him a ride in my truck, (he'd owned a sy a while back) and he loved it. I have to admit, i loved his mustang also. Thing sounded sick! Cool guy though, turns out he is gonna try to start a Viper Rental Service... now that's somthing else.

I got my sy out for the first time in a long while a couple of weeks ago, since then ive been wrenching nightly on it, for improvements, troubleshooting and just maintenance to start driving more. well, the first day I had it out in a while I wanted to go around town and have a lil fun, and noticing I only had a quarter of a tank, which I keep barely that much in it because i rarely drive it, it wasnt running very good, anyhow, I pulled in gate gasstation to gas it up, and went into pay and when i came out there were two cars (who didnt know each other) two guys, and a girl looking at my truck, the two guys said they had never seen one before and were all smiles. upside......the guys girlfriend was smiling big at me (musta had a thing for trucks). downside.........my truck wouldnt restart. embarrasing. I had to explain that i rarely drive the truck. but it felt good the attention i was getting anyway. I find that women love these trucks alot. added note.......since then i found out that my truck was actually out of gas when its on an eighth of a tank. and when its on a quarter.....its way under that. couple that with a distributor problem and I had a weeklong headache of diagnosis. but I'm good to go now.

You know who flames the noobs? the guys who've been here just a little while, but yet know nothing. one guy who has an extremely fast syclone and has been on here awhile pm'd me and said, man, dont sweat anyone, He said...I have one of the fastest trucks here and the punks who are still running in the 12s and 13s always are the first to flame a noob or act like they know something, just because they have a syty. he's dead on right. I built my truck, on my own, used my own choice of parts, and its fast, i didnt use the forum for any of my choices. three years ago, there were all decent guys on this forum, but its like the new wave of toddlers just got the option to buy sytys, because their parents helpdem get their second car finally. and they all think their in the movie fast and furious. they all think theyre badasses like vin diesel. right. any mature guy who has experience will be happy to give noobs advice. most of the punks on this board have whats called "read only experience". theyve read it so they think theyre an expert on sytys. anyhow, this board has alot of asses, ive rarely shown my face on the board but I'm no noob here. noobs are welcome to me, hopefully the noobs will replace the idiots. and if someone flames a noob, i'll be the first to stick up for him. wanna see who the punk ass idiots are here to avoid (the ones that dont know shit)....just watch....one of them will mouth off to this post. hahahahah. and then ask him what his truck runs, and who pays his insurance! cheers to the noobs and the seniors,......stand up for your self and take this forum back.

Well I know for pretty much every type of group of people there is some sort of NEWB bashing. I played college b-ball so I know that when you are new to something (freshman) you are going to get some shit. But I think it can be all be done in fun and I don't think it's necessary to make people feel like shit. I know some of the guys here get tired of answering stupid questions, or the same old thing over and over. I understand that.

Anyway, I'm a NEWB and I'm here to learn about my truck. I'm trying to understand that I can't learn it all at once - it's going to take time. I respect all fast cars no matter what they are. Some people think 13s are slow. Well I've driven a big block Chevelle that runs high 11s and there is no way in hell you can tell me that 13s is slow. A car or truck that runs 13s is damn fast in my book, and the faster you get, the more impressive it is to me.

Anything you guys have to say about these trucks is valuable information to me. Some guys probably think they can work on these trucks and can do it all themselves. That's not the case for me. I need all the help I can get. :wink:

I had a 671blown 406 longrod camaro that i built "with nitrous" so i think i know motors and nitrous. Not one person told me it should be done, all were against it. well i did, and now "not because of me" since then they make kits for they sytys and others are doing it. my point is, some ding dongs jump at the chance to mouth off about crap they dont know anything about yet. and 13s is fast, but for some punk out there with a 13 second talking any crap whatsoever to someone in the 9s and 10s is out of line. but you know what i did? i went over to the lightning forum, and found a couple guys over there who were running turbos on theres and nitrous, (two guys i think) and told them who i was and what i drive, they were super nice and told me what results the were getting mixing it up with turbo. that just gave me some ideas and I took some considerations and set it up myself. I didnt share my new performance statistics with the board because (no surprise) so many of them felt they were such experts at it they didnt need my info. anyhow, plenty of power while it was on, but after I built the motor I never put the nitrous back on. havent needed to. I also used three different types of connecting rods, and can tell you what kind of tolerances to expect out of each and how much and where youll have to shave the block to use certain rods. ive been through much of that. so if i can offer anything to the noobs, i am happy to.

As far as your current build, shit you havent had it running right, by your own admission in a recent thread. Waller made it out last week and helped you get thru your ignition woes, remember? You havent "needed" nitrous with the new build cause it hasnt been running correctly, or ?
