And to think there is another use for a mustang, besides demo derby and monster truck shows.

Damn.

My life just got turned upside down.

So not only can we beat mustangs with syty's, we can now beat on them using syty power.

I'm a pretty serious Mustang guy (I own 3 of them), but even I'll admit that the turbo 4.3 in the Mustang is a kickass little project. I really wish that Ford had a V6 that was worth a rat's ass to hotrod, but they all suck ballz.

As for the choads making comments about "best use for a Ford," etc...I'll say that Jordan made a wise move to use a vehicle where you won't get fucked up the ass (sans reacharound) for bodyside cladding every time your truck falls apart when you go through a car wash ("Got 3M tape?"). It's a glorified S10, that's about it (just like my Mustangs are glorified 1978 Fairmonts, but at least my parts don't cost my left nut). Chevy Avalanche owners, take note...your shit is next.

Where was that shit-talking Roushfag at the local Whorelando hangout anyway?

My point was that the Avalanche's slap-on bodyside cladding is likely to meet the same fate as that of the SyTy...unless GM engineers learned to double-up on the 3M tape, or maybe they started using Liquid Nail...lol

but they're mass producing the cladding like tupperware...so it won't cost as much or be unavailable. Thats my point.

well atleast we agree on something...... I had Ford's alleged hotrod v6 (the almighty 3.8l V6 in a SuperCoupe...... Nice car, had decent grunt considering, but unfortunately was still a mid 15 sec car because of the 4400# that the engine was laden with hauling the SC around. Forget about reliability, I was always afraid to tip into the throttle very hard for fear I was going to have to change a headgasket out every other month, and the AOD transmission is a JOKE in that car, talk about worse reliabiltiy than a 700r4 !

Dude wake up and smell the coffee, up until the '03 Cobra Ford has never made a mustang worthy competing with the General's F-body. Sure you can bolt this on and bolt that on, but I'm referring to SHOWROOM stock right off the floor, for the last 10 years every mustang ever built has been atleast a full second slower than its rival the Fbody. Even with the SUPERCHARGER on the Cobra its only putting out 65hp more than the last years run of NORMALLY ASPIRATED F-bodies. The biggest fuckup that FORD did when introducing the '03 Cobra is that they priced it out of MOST PEOPLES range, sure some people can afford it, but when its all said and done if I was going to spend $35-38k I'd be looking for a used C5 before I was contemplating buying that car.

Futhermore any person that treasures his ride wouldnt be caught dead in a drive through or coin operated car wash. I have yet to hear of a single person having an issue with the cladding falling off their truck through normal useage and wear. And I have never heard of anyone using 3M tape to hold cladding on, are you sure you have the right bbs ???

Well I was thinking PINTO but if you say so.

maybe they should, then there would be less of you dumbass Mustang guys around.

 LMAO, ummm yeah, the SyTy looks alot like an Avalanche... Glad ya pointed it out, never saw the resemblance before......

Well what I see here is people that enjoy SyTy's having a little fun at the expense of a Mustang, whooop-de-fucking-do, a couple of harmless jabs at a competing vehicle isnt completely unheard of. Have you ever BEEN on any other BBS ? I imagine the same thing goes on over at the Fbody and Mustang boards. If your panties get soo wound up over a couple of silly light hearted posts about a mustang you must truly live a sheltered (not to mention SLOW) life, if thats the case I feel even MORE sorry for you. If you cant handle the slams then I say :fist: and leave and dont look back.

I live 4-5 blocks from the track, I've been to STREET LEGAL night more times than I can count, I've seen COUNTLESS Mustangs there in stock trim running High 14's or 15's and I just have to laugh, I see Fbodies at the same track on the same night running Mid-to-High 13's so you wonder why everyone on this board laughs at mudstains, well the numbers dont lie. It seems as though Ford has been more concerned about placement of the cupholders vs DISPLACEMENT of the engine for the last 10-15 years.

Hell my 10 year old 'AVALANCHE' (as you call it) with 109,000 miles on it and a BAD Intercooler pump ran a 13.7, its BONE STOCK and it STILL outruns a '03 Mustang GT !!! Not only do I have aerodynamics working against me, I'm short 2 cylinders and I can still outrun any new GT sitting on car lots across America. Get over it, the GT is a PIG, and it will continue to be until Ford wakes up and realizes that its SUPPOSED to be a Sports Car, not an economical grocery getter.

Hehe..."cladding like Tupperware..."you said it, not me...lol

But I wasn't necessarily referring to availability, also the fact that the stuff falls off in the first place.

Mark you talkin about the saleen turd? He didnt bother to stop at the corner. I dont remember anyone with a roush at the local gay-bo hangout. I picked the rustang coupe roller b/c they've got a decent rear suspension, rear end, and they're light as hell. Plus no one will know what its got once i get some exhaust on it. Im prolly gonna tell them its an svo motor, that way i can get some races, b/c i know i wont be able to hide that turbo whistle.

Hey Todd...thats funny you should say that about the 3.8. I actually have my cousins car (a 94 3.8 rustang with a blown headgasket that needs repair) sitting in my garage waiting to be worked on. Im almost tempted to throw in the 5.0, that i took out of the coupe, in her car, but she prolly wants it to be quiet, so.....

I hear ya man, I was contemplating the same swap and was planning to do it if it ever happened. As it turned out, I spent alot of time and $$ working on it and never got to put a HUGE amount of miles on it, that coupled with the fact that it was my WIFE's car (her primary driver) so she didnt beat on it too much the Unthinkable never happened. I was looking at 5.0s and the 4.6L was also an option. It came in the later ones (Tbirds) when ford phased out the 3.8L in the Tbird/XR-7s. I think the 4.6L was offered from 96-on so you may consider that also.

Hehe, me too...I have a fubar 1994 3.8 Mustang in my driveway too, but as a bonus to the blown head gasket (try finding a 3.8 Ford WITHOUT a blown head gasket), I also have a rod banging around worse than a 5 dollar whore. Fubar indeed. I have a 351W on an engine stand, along with a pair of Buick GN turbos on a shelf, begging to get stuffed into the 94...should be a fun project, if I can ever make enough room in the garage for it.

Todd, i never really like the mod motors. I used to work at a local ford shop here in orlando (i wont say who.....ahem Lugo Perf.) and the 96+ cars always sucked balls to work on. We even dynoed a few with the typical supercharger and the most ive ever seen one make was only around 350hp to the wheels. And he thought he was hot shit too.

Mark...that would be neat with the gn turbos. I've read alot on the boards with the JY turbo setups and the windsors seem to wake up with boost. Have you seen some of the pics where people turbo the stock 5.0 shortblock and end up splitting the block right down the middle? Its awesome. On the contrary, i've seen a couple turbo carb'd stangs running 9's and 10's on the stock 5.0. If you know anyone who wants a complete 89 5.0 roller motor with weiand intake and holley 750 carb, 2 stock 5speeds (one needs rebuild)with b&m ripper shifter, new billet clutch quadrant (costed $100 alone), and ecm with wiring harness, lemme know. I'll sell all for $200, buyer picks up. I also have a free k-member too.

Damn, ya know the topic has gone down hill when Mark (Shortbus) shows up and posts...

Word to the wise, arguing with Mark will go nowhere, hes ruthless, quick to point out stupidity and make fun of you, and does have a respectable mustang that could probably put a majority of sytys to shame (truth hurts), but overall hes a good guy to know and make friends with, and DOES know his shit. (you owe me for that entire paragraph Mark).

Jordan, I'll be back in orlando this weekend... if you and christian go out, let me know, i'll bring the digi cam and do some quick vid captures for everyone before they wet their pants...
