Front hub bearing install question

I am replacing the front pass hub bearing assy by request of the alignment shop. I removed the hub assy, and there is grease between the knuckle seal and where the bearing is on the hub. I dont know where the grease came from, the bearing assy seams good and not dry. Is the grease there to keep the seal lubed and wet . I have the service manual cd and it does not state to put grease in that location under the hub assy r and r. Thanks

Re: Front hub bearing install question

sometimes people (past owner) put grease in the dumbest spots.mine had grease on the torsion bars, both ends, and anywhere else he thought things moved. it was gobbed up all over the place. it is a mess. Follow your instruction cd and you should be fine, thats why its there.
