Fuel gauge not working properly

Okay so my situation is that my fuel gauge does not read properly. I have a full tank of gas and it reads a little less then half. I just replaced my fuel pump and sending unit. I also checked that my gauge works by grounding the purple wire for the connector to the sending unit which causes it to read empty and it can go back to full when nothing is plugged in. I also saw that my sending unit is reading 90 ohms at full tank and my grounding point is cleaned.

I currently don't know what else would cause my little less then half tank reading on a full tank of gas

Please help me. Need suggestions

Float could be sticking. Possibly bent during installation? I am taking a Wild Ass Guess here. GM fuel gauges suck.

found out it was my gauge cluster. It ended up working perfect for a after market fuel gauge. ended up buying another cluster and works perfect now
