Fueling problem

Well got a new thing that just started with the truck. When doing a boosted launch it has started doing a pop about mid way through 1st. Just like it is starving for fuel. Has a new filter had the injectors checked they are all fine. Went and filled it up yesterday and took my dad for a ride in it. And when we did a launch at 2-3psi it made it out about 20-25 feet and poped. The pump is about 4-5 years old you think that could be it. Also it leaks f/p down to 0 in about 30 min. I also checked the fpr and it is clean and sealed good.

Re: Fueling problem

Get a fuel pressure gauge and see what you fuel pressure is doing when you are in boost. It should rise one psi per pound of boost... I need to put a new fuel pump in my truck. Once I turn if off, it goes to 0 psi in less than two seconds (check valve in the pump is shot). My pump is about eight years old so, I can't complain.

Okay I'm not an expert, but had my Sy since 1994 and successfully fixed many things.

This sounds similar to when mine has an ignition problem. Corroded cap-rotor??
Or in my case an internally broken spark plug wire. Without boost it was
able to spark just fine. But at some boost level, it could no longer arc across the break
in the wire. I have to be very careful when changing spark plugs as I seem to break
a wire internally about half the time. If you have a set of known good wires it might
be worth testing.
