Future SyTy values

What do we expect to happen in the next 5-10 years regarding the value of our beloved trucks? Will value steadily increase or will they level off like the GN's?

I am curious about this......

GN's have definately gone up in the last 5 years. I help my friend look for one in 98 and we found plently of 50-80K miles gn's for 8K-10K.

IMO I think nice SyTy will stay the same or go up, driven syty depreciate some and well worn one fall further. IMO SyTy won't drop too far though because they have enough unique part that make some of the rebuildable almost worth parting out....but who knows maybe there will be a SyTy craze and all of the price will go up quite a bit.

give it another 10-15 years and guys will be getting more than they paid for their trucks on a regular basis. But I don't really see any reason they will go up anytime soon.

Turds will always go cheap and 4,500 mile cream puffs will make you a mint.

Of course, don't forget the " I have to have one no matter what" factor. There is always some moron just waiting to throw his money away.

I dunno what they will do in value but something that may affect the value will be the price of fuel to run said vehicle..

If by some miracle somone comes up with a synthetic fuel that allows you to run a vehicle for pennies withOUT poluting the enviroment then the price of our trucks will possibley rise some as ppl that normally cant swallow the crappy milage we have. Then again we might get left in the dust if that happens as 550hp honda accords will be the norm so who would want a 400hp truck?

On the other hand if fuel sky rockets in price up to what the other countries get for it then quite possibly all but the most prosperous ppl that own them might try to unload their trucks which could cause the prices to go down the crapper. Then again since fuel would be so expensive there would be even more econoboxes on the road and a 400hp truck (or a 400hp anything) would be saught after addition to the garage.

So, what will the prices do? I have no clue but they will prolly only go so low depending on a lot of factors as well as only go so high. The exception to that would be the previously mentioned cream puff and rolling turd trucks.

In general, collectable vehicles generally hit their lowest point around 10 years after production. Obviously this depends on a lot of factors, but gives you a general idea of how things usually go. In other words, they probably won't get any cheaper from here on out... It's crossing over from "old" to "classic"...

I can't see them getting any cheaper than they are right now.

If I was looking, NOW would be the time to buy.
