Gas smell

Hello all, I have a 92 ty with 164,000 on the clock. The truck runs well except I smell gas. The O2 sensor was new when I got the truck so I am counting that out. I waste a lot of gas just doing everyday driveing.I have also noticed that when i am using the 4wd set up that at highway speeds I have less vac. that on 2wd. I guess thats normal cause your pulling another set of wheels.I have an autometer boost guage so I am not using the stock guage so I know I am getting a true reading. I anyone can give me any help please... Thank you

2wd, 4wd? I'm not with you. Anyway, you could check the hoses around the vapor canister below the remote oil filter.

Sorry I shouldve been more informative. 2wd when I remove the front prop shaft.Thanks for the info I am going to check that right now

Vapor canistor is a good place to start. Follow the vacuum lines back to make sure that they arent damaged. Also, the gasket on the fuel tank can be a problem. Fill the truck up completly and see if you can detect any seepage or leaks on top of the tank where the fuel pump hanger/sender assembly is located.
Also, a bad fuel regulator can introduce fuel into the vacuum line system, which eventually can cause you to smell fuel.

Personal experience: I have an 89 blazer that recently started having gas smell. Got up under it and I have a tiny leak in one of my fuel lines up above my drivers side rear wheel. Just a thought.
