If you are there or on your way call the guy with the truck and have him meet you with the truck at McCoy motorsports to check out the truck, they know everything there is to know about these trucks. If he's not willing to meet you there it's a scam, and Pikeville Ky has some very bad and untrustworthy people. I know I am from there. Be safe, have a gun and don't meet them just anywhere. good luck!!!

Anyone can dig up some old Syclone photos and scam people. But a current video is more concrete and legit. Nowadays, everyone can take and mail video now. I'd ask for a video "walk around" of the truck (with narration even better) before driving one mile to see this truck.

:eek: See what I mean. No video, no go. People who are motivated to sell a real truck will do all they can to appease a potential buyer. And if not, there are other fish in the sea.

I know you are embarrassed but chalk it up to a lesson.

If $600 was the only amount I'd lost on my truck, I'd be damn happy.

For the sake of others, deleting your post isn't very helpful. Maybe let someone else lead from your mistake.

There are other trucks out there. Keep at it. Caveat emptor!

It sorta doesn't make sense. This guy is a member of this forum showing photos of the truck 4 years ago and has several threads on here. His facebook has photos of a sy from years ago with posts like going to pick up my new ride. From 2012. He gave me all his info ..name address phone. All seems to match. He was going to meet me in town but i backed out not being able to go up there that day. I checked around and see his name as the owner of the house tied to the address. See his family name in this small town with many relatives. Bad thing is I was the one pushing the deal. He walked away a few times. Ah well. Money is on way back to me that's not the issue. I'm more concerned that if i did go up there I would have been maybe robbed . That would suck. You have to see the email and text exchanges..it's not like hey I saw an ad and sent money. This has gone on for weeeks. I've bought alot of cars in my life..some odd people I've dealt with. But this wasn't much different. And he did send a boatload of photos before any money sent. In any case I am a bit dumbfounded but fortunate as I suspect I was in for trouble if I went up there.

The fact that when an adult can't patch together a sentence with correct spelling is a red flag for me. It is an automatic price reducer due to having to deal with stupidity. :tup:

Basic story is guy had sy for sale on CL. Was going to see it but I backed out. Resumed chatting and made a deal. Sent him deposit and of course he disappeared. Money on way back to me. But he gave me what I think is all his info - name, address, etc. Seems he and family are all over this small town in KY. He is a member of this forum showing he bought a sy in 2012. Several threads on it here. I thought that was some sort of validation. Guess not. His facebook shows the same 2012 posts for getting the sy.

Feel like contacting his family members via Facebook but why bother I guess. Glad i didnt get mugged if i went there with cash in hand...really feel this could have went bad.

Did a lil search of Pike county ky police dept mugshots.. wow.. quite interesting. Will have to incorporate this step in my next purchase lol.

Anyone live near Pikeville KY and want to make some money :) Nothing bad.. just some help.

Are you saying the seller shows up in the mugshots? Would be good to know for anyone searching this vehicle in the future.

Well i didnt want to be so specific like posting everything i found...sorry it annoyed you. Yes.. he shows up several times recently (if who i was dealing with is really him). I do want to warn others as his for sale is still up and to be careful if you decide to deal with him...

While I know the deal is not happening, part of me just has to know if he even had this vehicle. He has posted here back in 2012 that he got the Sy and then many threads after. Just curiosity has the best of me to see if he still has or sold it long ago and used this as bait. So thought maybe someone might be near him to see if it is there.

How did you pay him a $600 deposit? and did he refund it too you or how did you get it back?

What truck number is this? Maybe the previous owner is still around or someone might still have contact with him to see if he knows anything more about the owner or truck.
