Isn't that what they made bondo for?

nope - metal fill

however the gap is to big


make filler plate

get out tig welder - with ______ rod ( low heat rod )

tig weld metal plate to body

fill with Metal Fill

sand with file and them bondo

sand

prime

dust with light color primer

sand some more

dust with light color primer

sand some more

Stand back look at it again

you get the idea

Going to fill in the body line on the front edge of the hood as it no longer has a line in the fender to match up with?

The body line is filled properly it isn't just mudded up. It is a bitch though to keep it from warping. Everything you are taught in welding shop doesn't apply to sheet metal. I just used silicon bronze rod to weld it up.

sy0565, have you noticed the crown on the passenger side of the hood doesn't match up to the fender or is it just my hood?

Those Goodmark hoods don't line right up out of the box. Mine needed a LOT of bodywork to get everything lined up and it's still not "perfect." Oh well, looks way better than stock and keeps the engine bay cool. That new design is pretty sweet. I'd be happy with either of them.

I thought I was gettin the old style also, but after I had it a while, and the price 265 out the door, I bought two
