Thanks guys for all the input. Well I dropped it off to the body shop to get the rt front flare put back on. I called him in the afternoon. He says I drove your truck up the street. it smells like anitfreeze inside. He didnt finish putting on the flare.now Im wondering how hard he drove it when he took it out? Vette wheels wernt ready to pick up yet so I guess Monday Ill try to get it back. hopfully in 1 peice. I will definatly pull it apart and go through the full tune up.
Time to replace the heater core.Check your motor mounts while you are at it.

Dont tell me the motor has to come out to change the heater core.? :(

no but broken mount give more stress on the heaterplug pipe the rad. is connected with. that's why they crack 80% of the time

Re: Got my Ty........... finally

weIl Ill let you guys know on Monday what happened. Man, i shoulda bought the one in aspen. There was a teal/ grey (35k mi)on I had a deal on it for $11750.00 + shipping. Then the guy calls me back says a guy in Denver offered the same and he would pick it up that day. So to avoid a bidding war I said " go ahead & let him have it" looking at the pics in hindsite I should have bought that one. But I got this one so ill have to deal with this one now. Which brought me to the delema. If you buy a truck low mileage all original. Do you mod it or is it better to buy one that needs work & mod a well used truck instead?
What do you guys think?

I'd say that if you are going to mod it get a high mileage truck. It can't come down much in value, but it can't go up much either. However, if you have a low mileage truck it is worth much more in stock, unmolested form. At 48k your truck is kinda stuck in the middle. I would say go for it because based on what you said it already needs some work. Mine has 140k, but I bought a high mileage truck with the intentions of doing quite a few mods. My :2cents:
