Green/??? Ty in Grand Rapids, MI

Saw a beat up Blazer as we pulled into the Chinese restaurant Friday night. Trish pulled into the spot next to it and started pointing. Sure enough, "Typhoon" on the back. It had all the cladding pulled off and steel wheels, but looked to be in decent shape otherwise.

I left a note on the windshield with my name, number, email address, etc. The Ty was gone when we came back out. A couple hours later, I got a call from the guy. He was from Grand Haven and just bought the truck. The previous owner got it from a junkyard with a clean title, and he's been told it was a drug enforcement pursuit vehicle, but the junkyard won't give him any details or paperwork on it.

He said he's been here before and would email me. Hope he shows up here so he can provide more info... He also said he knew another guy that had a few SyTy's too.

Yeah, get him making some posts on here so I can meet him. It would definetly be a bonus having a fellow syty guy close to home.

yes, it is true. I am the owner of #1600, living in Grand Haven, MI. I purchased the truck in December, and mechanically, it is in great conditions (with the exception being overboosting...more later). I am told it has quite a history, and have many papers on it. I am sending the truck to my body man on Monday, and it will be there for about a month. It will have all the urethane rehung, and repainted Forest Green Metallic, although it will not have the grey bottom like it is supposed to have. Also, i do not plan on reattaching the vinyl decals that say TYPHOON. The onlly warning will be the license plate...MAI TY

I want to thank invisibill for leaving the note on my truck...it seems that when they were at that restaurant, we happened to be sitting at the table next to them! I look forward o getting in touch with those members in my area, and bring in another into the fold. Previous Sy/Ty owner Teddy Niotis. He has had 2 Sy's, and a Ty, and is looking for another Ty right now.

PS: I have had the truck on the road for about 2 months, and the only kill I have had was my buddy's '98 BMW 740iL (below 80MPH).

You say your friend is looking for another TY? Ive been considering selling mine if your interested.Its a '93 blk/blk TY with 83,000 on the clock.Its in pretty good condition.Comes with a brand new dashmat,custom cover,and the datamaster/laptop if the price is right.Its in storage right,I live in Holland,MI.

BTW: keep your eyez peeled....I work in Holland and I have been known to drive it so often. I am off of Chicago Drive and US31. I take 120TH all the way home (about 2 miles before you fall into the Grand River0.
